Race 1

STRATA raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Amethystic. She has finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs meets the right field today and from her good draw of four, she should shed her maiden tag.

GYPSY EXPRESS produced a good third-place finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth before given a 23-week break. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride on her return. If not in need of this outing, she should pose a threat.

LISTENTOTHEOCEAN did not settle in her last start over 1400m on this course. She drops to the minimum trip and if suited, she can finish in the placings in this line-up.

Race 2

LIGHTNING GLOW produced an encouraging comeback run over 1250m on this course. He stayed on nicely at the finish that day and will love the rise to 1400m. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. Stable jockey Grant van Niekerk steps into the saddle and he may be the one to side with.

PLUS FOUR was a tad disappointing in his last start over this C&D. His debut effort when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was promising. He has scope and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

DAS GUTE ran a fair race in his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He does have a wide draw to contend with, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle

Race 3

PRINCESS IZZY cost herself winning last time as she lost two lengths leaving the start. The manner in which she ran on at the finish that day was eye-catching. Grant van Niekerk steps into the saddle and if jumping on terms, she should take a power of beating.

NILE THE BOSS showed good speed over 1250m last time, but found one too good in the form of Gimmethatpearl. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Potala Palace tries the 1400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may be hard to peg back.

EPIKLEROS finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

This is a weak Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is LORD FYFIELD from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable. He was doing his best work late when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He will enjoy the return to 1800m and can win in a field of this nature.

SANTO DOMINGO showed some improvement in his last start over 1250m. The son of Helmet takes a big rise in distance which may suit him well. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and there should be more to come.

WILLIAM THE RED has inconsistent form lines to his name. He tries the 1800m for the first time and if putting his best foot forward, he can earn a cheque for his patrons.

Race 5

GLOBAL MOVEMENT should have won his last start over this C&D as his pilot dropped his reins at the 100m mark. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Grant van Niekerk retains the ride and the combination can go one better.

MARSHALL FIELD produced a typical second run after a rest last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He has finished second twice from three starts over this distance. He is having his peak run and is one of the leading contenders.

AVIGNON has fair recent form lines to his credit. He has finished second once and third twice from four starts on this course. He tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can show.

Race 6

TIME FOR LOVE has produced two encouraging efforts to date. The way she stayed on at the finish over 1400m last time was promising. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Time Thief will love the rise to the mile and with luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.

LICKETY SPLIT challenged strongly in her last start over this C&D, but found one too good in the form of Coulditbe. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and merits healthy respect.

FLAMBOYANT FLYER was running on too late when second over 1800m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 7

METAR‘S last two starts before the 15-week break were good. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance. The daughter of Soft Falling Rain is versatile and with luck in running, she can return to winning ways

FALLO ANCORA followed up her maiden win with a hard fought victory over 1800m on this course. She received a two-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Twice Over is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

RED PALACE was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D. She set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

MAGIC VERSE has produced two good runs to date. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish third. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and should love the rise to the mile. In this type of field, he should be the one to beat.

NAUSHON stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Diamond Rock. He has finished second in all three attempts over this C&D. Despite his big mass of 61kgs, he should pose a threat.

RUN RUDOLPH RUN has fair consistent form lines to his credit. He is having his peak run today and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
