Race 1

ROCKPOOL made the expected natural improvement when finishing second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The manner in which he ran on at the finish that day was eye-catching. He is a progressive type and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can go one better.

ASPECT showed good improvement when finishing third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BARDOLINO ran a decent race when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The son of Oratorio will be at home over the 1400m. The combination of Brett Crawford and Luyolo Mxothwa are in fine form and merit healthy respect.

Race 2

Trainer Justin Snaith holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first four past the winning post. FUTURE SWING was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He was green in running and stayed on to finish third. The son of Futura is bred to enjoy the rise to 1400m and he can shed his maiden tag. CIDER

HOUSE RULES has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He raced from a handy position last time and found a kick to finish third. It must be noted that Le Morne has come out and won again since. He will strip a much fitter horse and is one of the leading contenders.

INTIMIDATOR should have finished closer last time as he hung in the closing stages. He returns to the Western Cape and from his midfield draw of five, should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

RAFEEF’S CHOICE is the best bet on the programme. She produced a good effort when second over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She should have won that day as she hung in the final 300m. The daughter of Rafeef will love the step up to the 1400m. She is having her first run on this course and if not too green around the turn, she should be the horse to beat.

TEARDROP’S last three starts have been good. She was her own worst enemy last time as she overraced between the 1100m mark and the 800m mark. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She does have the pace to overcome the widest draw of fourteen and she should pose a massive threat.

OLA BOMBSHELL ran a decent race when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. She was reported to be fatigued that day. With a bit of luck from her wide barrier position, she should run into the placings.

Race 4

CRACKLIN’ ROSE has good recent form lines to her credit. She set the pace and stayed on to finish third in her last start. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from seven starts over this distance. She is likely to adopt the same tactics and in this type of field, she may be rewarded for consistency.

DOUBLE DREAM was squeezed leaving the start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack last time, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If suited to the left-hand turn, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. GOLD

POKER GAME was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. She takes on stronger, but looks to be above average and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 5

BONANZA showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won over this C&D in the past. The son of Soft Falling Rain is having his peak run and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can return to winning ways.

RED IMPACT was ultra-impressive when winning his maiden at the third time of asking. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Red Ray takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

SWIFT ACTION was slow into stride over 1250m on this course last time, but finished his race off well. His record over this distance is a slight concern, but he is in good form and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

ACADEMIC GOLD finished 0.05 lengths behind stable companion, ROSALIE RUNS last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has finished third twice from as many starts on this course. She jumps from a handy draw of four and may be the one to side with.

ZIPPY OVER fought hard for her last victory over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She has finished second in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Twice Over carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and merits obvious inclusion.

TIME FLIES has followed up her maiden victory with two good second-place finishes. She raced wide around the turn last time and had to be switched at the 400m mark. The daughter of Dynasty will love the rise to 1800m and she has plenty of scope.

Race 7

TRIPLE TIME was super-impressive when winning his maiden at the second time of asking over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He lost one length at the start, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. The son of Twice Over takes on stronger, but he looks to be above average and can win again.

MATSUYAMO was given a peach of a ride when winning his maiden over this distance on the Polytrack at Fairview. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is progressive and from his good draw of two, he should give a good account of himself.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS is better than his last start as he clipped heels at the 1400m mark. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He returns to the Western Cape and with a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive.

Race 8

SUDDEN SONG was doing his best work late when second to Triple Time last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the extra furlong on offer. He has cracked pole position and is capable of shedding his maiden tag.

DOUBLING UP was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m. His debut effort when finishing second over 1000m catches the eye. The son of Twice Over is bred to enjoy the rise to the mile and he is one of the leading contenders.

NEVADA KING finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them where it matters most
