Race 1
ARTICUNO produced a fair debut effort in the Non-Black Type Hollywoodbets Summer Coronation Plate over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. It must be noted that Rascova has come out and won again since. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have strengthened up during her time off the track. If not in need of the run, she can shed her maiden tag in this type of field.
HIGHLYCONFIDENTIAL was in need of her debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. Richard Fourie takes the ride and the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should make the natural progression.
BLUE HOLLY has been disappointing in her last two starts over 1200m. Her second career effort when second over this distance catches the eye. If finding the form of that race, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
This is an open Maiden Juvenile Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is LILY OF THE NILE from the Glen Kotzen stable. She ran a fair race in the Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes last time. Her debut effort over 1000m was encouraging. The daughter of Erupt will enjoy the step up to 1400m and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.
STREETSHAVENONAME finished 2.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
WARM WINTER NITE lost two lengths leaving the start on debut and never got into the race. The son of What A Winter would have come on from the run and will enjoy the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can improve to place.
Race 3
GO LIKE FLO finished 0.55 lengths behind LADY RENEE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the step up to 1400m. Sean Veale does duty today and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
ANNA KARENINA showed very good improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. She set the pace, but was caught late by Estimated. If confirming her recent improvement, she can go one better in this line-up.
MARY LAMB finished 1 length behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 4
TOUT A FAIT finished 2 lengths behind PORT LOUIS last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has finished second four times and third once from six starts on this course. The son of Master Of My Fate runs his best races for Grant van Niekerk and the pair may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
PORT LOUIS won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KWINTA’S LIGHT was not beaten far in the Grade 2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won a Grade 1 since. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and on previous form, she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 5
LION’S HEAD had to overcome the widest draw over 1800m last time and was doing his best work at the finish. He finished 3.6 lengths behind SOLAR POWER in his penultimate effort. The son of Dynasty is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and he has cracked pole position. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he is capable of notching up his third career victory.
FUTURE SWING showed good guts when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He has won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Futura is versatile and can notch up the hat-trick.
SOLAR POWER was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be suited to the mile. From his good draw of three, he merits healthy respect.
Race 6
SUPER SILVANO finished 1.7 lengths behind THEFUTUREISBRIGHT last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice and finished second once from six starts on this course. On best form shown, he is capable of returning to winning ways in a race of this nature.
SILVER HOST should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched at a crucial stage in the race. He has won twice from three starts over this distance. This is his peak run and from barrier four, he should throw out a big challenge.
SENSO UNICO has found good form in his last two starts. The son of Twice Over is unbeaten from two starts on this course. Corne Orffer retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
Race 7
LOVE IN WINTER is unbeaten from four starts to date. He showed good guts when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of What A Winter won his first two career outings on this course. He is a horse loaded with ability and if not in need of the run, he can keep his unbeaten record intact.
TCHAIKOVSKY finished 0.2 lengths behind MUFASA last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
TRIVIAL MATTER finished 0.95 lengths behind MUFASA in the race referred to above. He is also 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. He shows good speed in his races and may be hard to peg back.
Race 8
MISS GREENLIGHT ran a good race when second in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She has finished second three times and third once from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is in a very good space and can notch up her third career victory.
