Race 1
GROOVEJET is an unraced son of Silvano from the Justin Snaith stable with Richard Fourie in the irons. He is related to multiple winners including Silver Darling and Jet Dynasty. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
INFRARED is a son of Twice Over from the Brett Crawford yard with Luyolo Mxothwa in the irons. If not too green, he should give a good account of himself.
TAMBOURINE MAN showed good improvement in his last start with the blinkers fitted. He finished 1.5 lengths behind RUN FOR ME that day. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will strip a much fitter horse today and may have more to come
Race 2
A THOUSAND KISSES produced a promising debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She showed good pace and despite racing green, the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.
TEQUILA SKY ran a decent race on debut over this C&D. She showed signs of needing that outing as she lacked extra in the closing stages. She would have come on from the run and is one of the leading contenders.
ELLORIX is much better than her last start as she did not act in the going. Her debut effort when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth was encouraging. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and if the going is on top, she should run a big race.
Race 3
CHARLENE has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She set the pace over 1400m last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Windrunner. The daughter of Futura is a progressive type and with a bit of luck in running, she can go one better.
LOOK FORWARD has decent consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
YOU WIN AGAIN showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Twice Over is having her peak run today and from pole position, she may have more to come.
Race 4
MAGIC VERSE ran a good race on debut over 1250m on this course. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on strongly at the finish. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
RIGHT ROYAL MO was not disgraced when fourth in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Sales Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should pose a threat to the top choice.
FINAL EDITION has improved in his last two starts. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
TRIPPI‘S SILK has produced two decent efforts over 1200m. He jumped inwards leaving the start last time, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Trippi will be at home over 1400m and he is the horse to beat in this line-up
HAWK CIRCLE produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He will be at peak fitness and if putting his best foot forward, he should go close.
SACAMBAYA was green around the turn last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and has the scope to run a big race.
Race 6
This is a weak Maiden Plate field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is MOTHERSHIP from the Mike Stewart stable. She stayed on when third over this C&D last time. The daughter of Erupt is the form horse in the race and she should give the males a run for their money.
RUN RUDOLPH RUN ran a fair race in his comeback run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. He should strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
LOCKHEEDLIGHTNING‘S last two starts have been fair. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From his good draw of four, he can improve to finish in the placings in this line-up.
Race 7
NATYAM hails from the Gareth van Zyl stable. He was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over 1600m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Noble Tune looks to be above average and if suited to this course, he can notch up the hat-trick. FUTURE TURN has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts on this course. He is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of three and may be hard to peg back.
SUDDEN SONG has some decent recent form lines to his credit. He finished 0.75 lengths behind CORONATION TIME in his penultimate start. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 8
CANDY TOWN won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over 1250m on this course. She showed good speed and found another kick where it matters most. The daughter of Querari takes on stronger, but she is lightly raced and has plenty of scope. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should give her older rivals a run for their money.
MULBERRY STREET was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She drops back to the 1000m and Richard Fourie may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most
MUSICAL ARTS has produced two fair runs since winning her maiden. The daughter of Oratorio has plenty of scope and if putting her best foot forward, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
LE LEGIONNAIRE was a shock winner on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He showed a good turn of foot and lasted long enough to hold all challengers at bay. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He does take on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.
PARATROOPER ran a good race when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If suited to this course, he should be a massive runner.
NIGHT TIGER finished 0.8 lengths behind BENJAMIN last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 10
HEAR MY VOICE has some decent recent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She finished 0.7 lengths behind ENEMY TERRITORY, three runs ago. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Captain Of All will be mowing down the frontrunners.
ENEMY TERRITORY was running on when second over 1200m last time. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will love the rise to 1400m and she can go one better
FLYING FIRST has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She won her only attempt over this C&D and must be included in all bets
