Race 1

The tentative first selection is SHINE IN MEMPHIS from the Erico Verdonese stable. She was disappointing in her last start over 1160m on the Standside course. Her debut effort when third over 1000m was eye-catching. Richard Fourie takes the ride and she may be the one to side with.

RIGHT TURN ON RED was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on the Standside course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be one of the leading contenders.

ZOOM LADY is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished second in her only attempt on this course. On best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

TRIP TO STATES is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. His penultimate run when third over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course was encouraging. The 1200m should be right up his alley and with Raymond Danielson back in the saddle, he can win a race of this nature.

FAST DUTY‘S last two starts over this C&D have been good. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Global View. Richard Fourie takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

COPPER MIST has improved in his last two starts over 1400m on the Standside course. The son of Master Of My Fate drops back to the 1200m and if the distance is not on the sharp side, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

LADY DYNAMO raced from a handy position over 2600m last time and stayed on to finish third, against male company. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Eightfold Path is back against her own sex and from pole position, she can shed her maiden tag.

ANNEWITHAN E showed good improvement in her last start over 1800m on the Standside course. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The daughter of William Longsword will love the extra furlong on offer and is one of the leading contenders.

OUTER DIMENSION finished 2.85 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

Race 4

ANGEL‘S WISH stayed on when fourth over 2000m on this course, last week Saturday. The 5yo mare pulled a shoe in running that day which didn’t help her chances. She should have no issues with the rise to 2600m and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, she may be the one to side with.

PRINCESS KESH finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice in her last start. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo is back in the saddle and she merits healthy respect.

KIND JUDY finished 2.5 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. Muzi Yeni jumps aboard and she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

BLACK LIGHTNING has improved to finish second in his last two starts. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the final 400m. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and if keeping on a straight line, he can go one better.

THREE STRANDS showed good signs of a form return over 1800m on the Standside course last time. She raced from a handy position and tried hard all the way to the line. The daughter of Futura won her only attempt over this distance and she should give the males a run for their money.

LIDL MISS SUNSHINE stayed on at the finish over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Funky Music who has come out and won again since. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter

Race 6

SHARAPOVA is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and rallied late to finish second. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Querari carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GOLDEN ASPEN finished 3.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

QUEEN OF SMOKE returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. She finished second in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight may be at her best with a longer run-in, but she has the class to be competitive.

Race 7

QHAWE LAMI has good form lines to his credit. He showed good pace in the Non-Black Type Farm Sale Stakes last time, but found one too good in the form of Golden Tatjana. The son of Duke Of Marmalade is unbeaten from two starts on this course. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and in this type of field, he is the horse to beat.

ZENOBIA‘S GOLD finished 4.1 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The daughter of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

DHONI finished 4.5 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. The son of Pomodoro will strip a much fitter horse today and if finding the form of his debut run, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 8

COSMIC STAR showed good speed over 1000m on the Standside course last time, but was outrun late by Rainbow Reward. The son of Erupt has no issues with the 1200m as he won his maiden over this trip. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and from his good draw of four, he may be hard to peg back.

BLACK EGRET finished 0.25 lengths behind POWER BROKER last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won his only attempt over this C&D and merits healthy respect.

POWER BROKER won a game race in his last start over 1100m on the Standside course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his only attempt over this C&D and can follow up.

Race 9

ZIYASHA followed up his maiden win with a decent sixth-place finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He takes a drop-in class and has plenty of scope. The son of Rafeef may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

HERE IS THE TIGER stayed on when third over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

STORMY SEAS‘ last two starts have been fair. He has finished second three times and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
