Race 1

GIMME’S LASSIE has finished second in both her efforts at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She showed good speed over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Silver Garbo. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight makes her course debut and if not too green around the turn, she should shed her maiden tag.

ALLENDE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The daughter of Dynasty would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

YAYA MARIA has produced two good runs to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 2

LIGHT SPEED set the pace in the Grade 3 Langerman last time and kept finding to keep all challengers at bay. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. The son of Gimmethegreenlight looks to have class about him and if not in need of the run, he should take a power of beating.

BARATHEON set the pace over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but was caught late by Top Quality. He has won over the mile in the past and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SCALINI won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Pomodoro is a progressive type and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

RELEASE ME caught the eye when finishing second on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He took time to find his feet that day, but finished his race off strongly. The son of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

CHARLIE MALONE showed good speed over 1000m last time, but was outrun late by Hammies Hero. He is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. He does have the speed to overcome the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back.

NOT IN DOUBT should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the final 250m. He steps up to 1250m and the blinkers have been removed. If keeping on a straight line, he should go close.

Race 4

MAX THE OTTER ran a good race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He received a bump at the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He would have come on from the outing and will love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MASTER JOSH showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He does have the widest draw to overcome, but with a bit of luck, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

AUSSENKEHR showed good improvement when second over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. He raced on the speed, but found one too good in the form of Red Impact. The son of Elusive Fort will strip much fitter today and may have more to come.

Race 5

This is an open-looking Merit Rated 70 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first choice is ENCHANTED CREEK from the Andries Steyn yard. She has decent recent form lines to her credit. Her record on this course is a slight concern, but she is in a good space and will be at peak fitness. She may be rewarded for consistency.

LOVE IS A ROSE finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned, but she should finish closer.

COSTA SMERALDA ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1400m last time. She has won once and finished third once from five starts over this distance. She will strip a much fitter horse today and can feature.

Race 6

ACADEMIC GOLD ran a good race when second over 1800m last time. She raced from a handy position, but was caught late by Rosalie Runs. She has finished third twice from as many starts on this course. Two of her three career victories have come over this distance and she may be the one to side with.

JASMINE finished 3.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

MARIA QUEROL’S last start can be ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. Her form prior to that outing was good. She won her only attempt on this course and despite carrying top weight, she merits healthy respect.

Race 7

TRIP OF FORTUNE is much better than his last start. He returns from a 22-week break, during which time he was gelded. He is unbeaten from two starts over this distance and won his only attempt on this course. The son of Trippi is loaded with ability and if not in need of the run, he should notch up his fifth career victory.

WARRIOR was a tad disappointing in the Listed Compendium Insurance Brokers Handicap last time. The 10-week break would have done him the world of good. His last victory came over this distance and he merits obvious inclusion.

CAPTAIN OF STEALTH finished 1.25 lengths behind MY BESTIE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 8

DIFFERENT FACE has decent consistent form lines to her name. She finished 1.5 lengths behind SONIC BURST in her penultimate run. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

SONIC BURST was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 Champagne Stakes last time. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back.

MISS GREENLIGHT ran on powerfully when winning her last start over 1200m. She finished second in her only attempt on this course. If not in need of the run, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 9

ON THE ROAD AGAIN stayed on when fourth over 1000m on the Fairview Polytrack last time. It must be noted that Vegas Gold has come out and won again since. The son of Vercingetorix won his only attempt over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of three and may be the one to side with.

SUPERIOR LEADER showed good speed when second over 1200m last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. Sandile Mbhele retains the ride and he should be one of the leading contenders.

BEERENBERG followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1000m. He takes a drop in class and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, he should go close to winning
