Race 1

VENERABLE ran a good race when finishing second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Money Heist. He was reported to be not striding out that day. The son of Silvano takes a drop in distance and will be cherry-ripe. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and he can shed his maiden tag.

LEMME GO should have won his last start over 1200m on the turf as he hung in the closing stages. He tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited, he should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

COLOUR OF MONEY finished 1.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

NIKIYA was running on when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She has won twice, finished second once and third three times from ten starts over this C&D. The 7yo mare takes a big drop in class and she should notch up her sixth career victory.

ETHIOPIAN QUEEN was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. The tongue-tie has done the trick on the daughter of What A Winter. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BONNE BOUCHE was ultra-impressive when winning her maiden over 1100m on this course last time. She showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Captain Of All takes a rise in class, but she is progressive and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 3

WYLIE RILEY was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1600m on the turf. His penultimate effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville was encouraging. The son of Wylie Hall gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. With a bit of luck in running, he should be the one to beat.

FLEET COMMANDER should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the latter stages. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and if keeping on a straight line, he should go close to winning.

ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD was disappointing in his last start without the blinkers. He has finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. The headgear has been re-fitted and from pole position, he should be hard to peg back.

Race 4

EVENTIDOR showed very good signs of a form return in his comeback run over 1600m on this course, three weeks ago. He will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and with just 54.5kgs on his back, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

HIGH MOON’S last three starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over the mile last time and rallied late to finish third. He is in a good space and will be involved in the fight to the finish.

IRON WILL was in need of his comeback run over 1400m on this course. He takes a drop in class and should strip much fitter. The services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa will help his cause.

Race 5

RODRIGUEZ lost two lengths at the start last time, but ran on powerfully to notch up his third career victory. The drop to the mile should not pose a concern as he has won over this distance in the past. He takes a drop in class and can follow up.

DOUBLE MARTINI has won his last two starts well on the turf. He has won twice and finished third once from six starts over this distance. He received a three-pound penalty for his last victory and can notch up the hat-trick.

BANZAI PIPELINE was running on when third over 1900m last time. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from six starts over this C&D. He should be closer to the leaders turning for home and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

BOOGIE SHOES was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over this distance on the turf. She lost a length at the start, was settled at the rear of the field and ran on to win with ease. She received a five-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, she can follow up.

FLOWER SEASON finished 2.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

TOP HONOURS finished 4.3 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights and should also finish a lot closer.

Race 7

GENTLEMAN’S WAY finished 0.6 lengths behind CLEAN SLATE last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. Four of his five career victories have come on this course. He will be doing his best work at the finish and can return to winning ways.

CLEAN SLATE was running on too late when second over 1600m on this course last time. He has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. He is a versatile type and merits healthy respect.

GREEN DREAM has good recent form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over 1200m last time before getting outrun late by Star Choice. Her last victory came over this C&D and she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 8

GLOBAL SECRET ran a decent race when fourth in her last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this distance. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

IRON CHEF was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1900m on this course. She drops to the 1400m and gets the blinkers fitted which should sharpen her up. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination merits healthy respect.

KITTEN’S ADVENTURE’S last two starts have been good, the latest of which was over this C&D. She jumps from a good draw of two and should be involved in the fight to the finish
