RACE 1

BRIDGERTON was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m on the turf. His three efforts prior to that outing, on this course were encouraging. The son of Visionaire shows good speed in his races and should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. Jockey Luyolo Mxothwa takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

PRINCIPESSA MIA showed good speed over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Mediteraneangoddes. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick and she should give the males a run for their money

MIRACULOUS MAN stayed on when third over this C&D last time. He runs well for jockey Denis Schwarz and from his handy draw of two, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 2

AMAZING COLOURS has finished second in her last four starts. She raced from a handy position over 1300m last time, but found one too good in the form of Baby Love. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Heavenly Blue tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

QUIRK OF FATE ran a good race when third over 1300m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The blinkers remain fitted and she can throw out a challenge to the top choice.

JOSI MO has improved in her last two starts. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1200m. She is in a good space and must be included in all bets.

RACE 3

US OPEN ran a good race when second in his first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the drop to 1400m and in this type of field, he can go one better.

LAUNCH CODE showed good improvement in his last start over 1300m on this course. The son of Lancaster Bomber will love the extra distance on offer and he is a solid back- up for the Kelly Mitchley stable.

TWICE A SAINT has finished second in his last three starts. The son of Twice Over is in a good space and Wayne Agrella may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him.

RACE 4

This is a competitive Merit Rated 72 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ROSA DOURADA from the Sharon Kotzen stable. She took on male company in her last start, raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Crusade is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She is back against her own sex and with luck in running, she can return to winning ways.

DEMIGOD finished 0.25 lengths behind HOLLY’S VIEW last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

HOLLY‘S VIEW ran on well when second over 1600m last time. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners

RACE 5

CENTRAL CITY has fair recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when fifth over this C&D last time. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

GLOBAL BANKER is better than his last start in the Listed Champion Juvenile Cup. He would have come on from the run and should strip a much fitter horse. The son of Global View gets the services of Craig Zackey and if suited to the surface, he should pose a threat.

ZATARA MAGIC is better than his last two starts over further. The son of Radaba comes into this race well-weighted and if getting away to a clean start, he can show improvement.

Race 6

JASPERO ran a good race when second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Wind Sock has come out and won again since. He finished 1.6 lengths behind ESSOS last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

ESSOS fought hard for his last victory over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of three and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SILVER STARDUST is much better than his last start suggests. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. On his previous form lines, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

RACE 7

CHRONICLESOFNANIA should have finished closer to the winner last time as she raced wide around the turn. The manner in which she stayed on at the business end that day was encouraging. The daughter of Louis The King will be at home over 1900m. She jumps from pole position and can notch up her third career victory.

DAME OF FLAMES was an easy winner of her last start over 2000m on this course. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew off late. The daughter of Futura is in a good space and can follow up.

HEY SIRI finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

RACE 8

ARTURO showed good guts when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking over 1200m on the turf. He showed good speed that day and fought back well in the latter stages. The son of Duke Of Marmalade takes on stronger, but he is lightly raced and has plenty of scope. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he should be up to the task at hand.

DALEEL ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SIRNIHAALLONGSWORD followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. The son of William Longsword is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

RACE 9

GLOBAL GODDESS finished 1.35 lengths behind MON TRESOR last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this distance. The 5yo mare may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

MON TRESOR is a winner of her last two starts. She has won once and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect

MOONSTRIKE was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1000m as nothing went her way in running. She finished third in her penultimate run over this C&D. With a bit of luck from her wide draw of 13, she should be right there at the finish
