SECRET LINK has shown good signs of a form return in his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely to finish third. The son of Global View jumps from a good draw of four and with Keagan de Melo in the saddle, he can notch up his second career victory.

Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he should notch up his 16th career victory.

MODERN MAGICIAN ran a good race when second in his last start over 1000m at the Vaal. He showed good speed, but was outrun late by subsequent Grade 3 winner Anfields Rocket. He returns from a 10-week break and is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. He takes a drop in class and if suited to this course, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

GLOBAL ASH finished 2 lengths behind BETHEL last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today, and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Global View. Xolani Ndlovu does duty and if jumping on terms, he is capable of returning to winning ways
