RACE 1

WAZ WOUTER should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. His debut effort when finishing fourth over this distance on the turf was encouraging. The son of Just As Well tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and in this line-up, he should be the horse to beat.

MOVE ON OVER ran a fair race in her local debut over 1000m on the turf. She showed good speed, but did not go on with the effort. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If seeing out the 1200m, she should throw out a challenge to the top choice.

EMPIRE BLUE‘S last two starts with the tongue-tie fitted have been fair. He finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 2

PONDEROSA PINE was a tad disappointing in her last start over 2000m, but the jockey reported something to be amiss. Her penultimate run when third over 1400m on the turf was encouraging. The blinkers have been re-fitted and if suited to the polytrack, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

DREAM STAR was slow into stride over this C&D last time, but was running on to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, she can go close.

BRAZILIAN STORM is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She tries the polytrack and on best form shown, she should be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

RACE 3

BOLD RESOLVE should have finished closer to the winner in his last start over 1300m on this course. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from seven starts on this course. With a bit of luck in running, he can return to winning ways.

FERRARI ICE has good recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He is likely to race on the speed from his awkward draw of seven and should be competitive.

NAVAL SECRET was doing his best work at the finish when third over 1300m on this course last time. He has won once and finished third twice from six starts over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of three and should be involved in the finish.

RACE 4

AERIAL VIEW ran a good race in her last start over 2000m on the turf, against stronger. She set the pace and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Soft Falling Rain takes a big drop in class and with a bit of luck from her wide draw of 10, she can return to winning ways.

READY TO FLY showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She tries the 1900m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a threat to the top choice.

SUGARBERRY finished 1.75 lengths behind HEY SIRI last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

RACE 5

AMERICAN DREAM set the pace in his last start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack, but was outrun late by Zakho. The son of Jay Peg meets the right field this afternoon and if settled into his new surroundings, he should be the horse to beat.

IZHIESTIA has shown signs of a form return in her last two starts, the latest of which was over 2000m on the turf. She is the stable elect with Mathew Thackeray in the saddle and should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ALMIGHWAAR may not have seen out the 2400m in his last start on the turf. He has won once and finished third three times from five starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be right there at the finish.

RACE 6

ALINGALONGA won a game race in his last start over 1600m on this course. The son of Flower Alley received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. He won his only attempt over this C&D, four runs ago. He does take a rise in class, but is in a very good space and may be up to the task at hand.

PRINCE VIHAAN is better than his last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. On his previous form, he should be hard to peg back.

SILVER TYCOON showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this distance. From pole position, he merits obvious inclusion.

RACE 7

DROP OF TIME is better than his last start on the turf track. His local debut effort when fourth over 1000m on this course, was encouraging. The son of Pomodoro may be at his best on this surface and has dropped to a competitive rating. He jumps from a good draw of four and if jumping on terms, he should be competitive.

NO TIME IS TAKEN hails from the visiting Candice Dawson stable. She is better than her last start over 1000m. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from eight starts over this distance. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should be competitive.

TRAVEL MASTER has some fair recent form lines to his name. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last outing has come out and won since. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

RACE 8

SLIM JANNIE is having his first run for the Gavin Smith stable. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He continues to drop in the ratings and with the services of S’manga Khumalo, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

CAITLYNS BOY was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 1200m on this course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick and there may be more to come from the son of Pomodoro.

QUEEN‘S WOOD is having his first run for the Lunga Gila stables. His last two starts for the Kumaran Naidoo camp were good. If not in need of this outing, he should earn a cheque for his patrons
