Race 1

ARIVIDICIO produced two good second-place finishes at Turffontein before being given a 25-week break. He stayed on nicely at the finish in the Listed Storm Bird Stakes last time but found one too good in the form of Karangetang. The son of Flower Alley has been gelded and if not in need of the run, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

TARTARUS showed good speed over 1200m last time but found one too good in the form of I Am Giant. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He should enjoy the drop to 1000m and is one of the leading contenders.

NDAKA has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Raymond Danielson is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 2

GERONIMO stayed on nicely when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. The 5yo gelding meets the right field this evening and may be the one to side with.

PHAKA IMALI is much better than his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. His best form has been over this C&D and he may be the one to cause the upset.

MINSTREL GALLERY has been disappointing in her last three starts on the Polytrack. Her second career outing at Hollywoodbets Scottsville catches the eye. She may be at her best on the turf and in this line-up, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 3

SASHAY AWAY was not disgraced when finishing sixth against the males over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. Both her career victories have come on this course. The daughter of Var is back against her own sex tonight and she can return to winning ways.

SLALOM QUEEN has produced two decent efforts since returning from a 26-week break. She has dropped to a competitive rating and will be cherry-ripe. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back.

FREESTATE STAR is better than her recent form suggests. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. She continues to drop in the ratings and is capable of causing an upset on best form shown.

Race 4

MUSIC IS LIFE is the best bet on the programme. He ran a good race when finishing second over 1200m on this course last time. He raced from a handy position and fought hard but found one too good in the form of Stevie Gee. The son of Oratorio should love the extra furlong on offer and he can go one better.

GREENBACKCURRENCY finished 3.6 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He would have come on from the run and will enjoy the step up to 1400m.

EDDIE THE MOVER set the pace over this distance on the Polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Jetavana. Gareth Wright retains the ride and the pair may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

SEQUOIA showed very good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely to finish third. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Querari takes a drop in class and if confirming his recent improvement, he should return to winning ways.

DOUBLE MARTINI was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m on this course. He took the lead at the 300m mark, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Twice Over merits healthy respect.

CUPID’S SONG has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this distance. He is having his peak run tonight and should be cherry-ripe.

Race 6

LET’S NOT LINGER finished 0.55 lengths behind FLASHY KAITRINA last time. She is 4.5kgs better off at the weights tonight and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She jumps from pole position and may be the one to side with.

FLASHY KAITRINA has won her last two starts well on the Polytrack. She received a seven-pound penalty for her last victory and can notch up the hat-trick.

SPLASH OF GREEN ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes a drop in class and should strip much fitter. She has dropped to a competitive rating and will be staying on.

Race 7

SOUTHERN CAPE finished 0.65 lengths behind MACARA last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights which should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. The daughter of Flower Alley is likely to have her own way in front and may be hard to peg back.

MACARA was running on when third in the Listed Off To Stud Stakes last time. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should pose a massive threat.

SPRING HIGH was running on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Querari should be the first male past the winning post.

Race 8

HIGH MOON hails from the visiting Clinton Binda stable. He stayed on strongly when second over 1600m at Turffontein last time. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the 5yo gelding. He is having his peak run and from pole position, can go one better.

SECRET GIVER was running on when second over this distance on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He finished second in his only start on this course and from his good draw of three, merits healthy respect.

PAPA C is better than his recent form suggests. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Master Of My Fate has dropped to a competitive rating and with Keagan de Melo in the saddle, he can return to best form
