Race 1

MISS DORA got going too late when second over this C&D last time. She has finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Pomodoro meets the right field today and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can go one better.

FORT J’ADORE finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. The daughter of Captain Of All is a progressive type and may have more to come.

COUNTY KILDARE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

ROWINS DREAM showed good improvement in her stable debut over 1200m on this course. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Elusive Fort will enjoy the step up to the mile and if confirming her recent improvement, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GELSOMINA should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was carried outwards at the 350m mark and had to be eased. With a bit of luck in running, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

LITTLE LADY ran a fair race in her last start over 1400m on this course. She will enjoy the extra 200m on offer and Keagan de Melo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 3

ICE SUNSATION won a good race in her last start over this distance on the turf. She set the pace, found another kick and won easier than the official margin suggests. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix returns to Handicap Company and can follow up.

FABULOUS followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1400m on the turf. She returns from a well-deserved 13-week break. The daughter of Visionaire tries the mile for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can notch up the hat- trick.

FEELING GROOVY won a game race in her last start over this C&D. She set the pace that day and kept finding all the way to the line. The daughter of Canford Cliffs takes a rise in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 4

BOOGIE SHOES was settled near the rear of the field over 1800m last time and ran on powerfully to notch up her third career victory. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the step up to 1900m and she can follow up.

SING FOR WINTER won a good race in her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

CATALEYA SUMMER followed up her maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Twice Over tries the 1900m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 5

BOUNDLESS BASH showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m on this course. He set the pace in the early stages, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Manhatten Cafe. The son of Judpot tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should go one better.

STRAIGHT UP won a good race in his last start over 1900m on this course. He was settled near the rear of the field and ran on powerfully. If this run has not come too soon, he can follow up.

IBUTHO has fair recent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the closing stages. He jumps from a handy draw of three and should earn another cheque.

Race 6

This is a competitive Merit Rated 66 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HATTA from the Michael Roberts stable. She raced from a handy position over 1200m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish second. Both her career victories have come on this course. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she may be the one to side with.

MEREDITH GREY ran a fair race when fourth in the race referred to above. Her wide draw of 11 is an obvious concern, but with a bit of luck, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

QUANABI finished 0.25 lengths behind SHAKEN NOT STIRRED last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 7

MOVIE MAGIC finished 0.25 lengths behind PURPLE OPERATOR last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. Marco van Rensburg does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

GIMME A RAINBOW finished 1.05 lengths behind PURPLE OPERATOR in the race referred to above. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but is versatile and should be competitive.

PURPLE OPERATOR fought hard for his last victory over this C&D. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory and against similar opposition, he is capable of following up.

Race 8

LADY HEIST should have finished closer to the winner over 1000m on this course last time as she hung in the closing stages and was reported to have cast a shoe in running. She finished second in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Time Thief is having her peak run today and if keeping on a straight line, she can return to winning ways.

RETAIL THERAPY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. Four of her five career victories have come over this C&D and she merits healthy respect.

ACACIA’S BLOSSOM took on stronger in her last start over 1600m on the turf. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Flower Alley runs well for Keagan de Melo and she cannot be ignored
