There will be a massive R1 975 000 up for grabs in the Punters' Challenge at Hollywoodbets Greyville, it's free to play, Register here

Race 1

WINTER JOURNEY has finished second in her last four starts. She was unlucky not to have won last time as she was carried inwards at the 50m mark. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. In this type of field, she is capable of shedding her maiden tag.

GUEST GETORIXX was running on when finishing fourth over this distance on the turf. She has cracked pole position and will strip a much fitter horse. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LADIES DAY was a tad disappointing in her last start at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi which will help her chances.

Race 2

BECKONING BEAUTY was bumped at the start last time, challenged strongly but found one too good in the form of Sting Ray. She has finished second three times and third twice from seven starts over this C&D. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse retains the ride and the combination can go one better.

RIDE THE LIGHTNING followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She returns from a well-deserved 13-week break and if not in need of the run, she can notch up the hat-trick.

DIAMONDS ‘N DUST showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that Space Race has come out and won again since. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Race 3

FLUTE ran a good race when finishing third over 1600m on the turf last time. He moved up like a winner, but was outrun late. He gets the blinkers fitted and tries the tongue-tie for the first time. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse and in this line-up, he is the horse to beat.

GENTLE RAIN ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Kenilworth. He returns from a lengthy 51-week break. The son of Soft Falling Rain has plenty of scope and if not in need of the run, he should pose a massive threat.

SEA CRUISE is still a maiden after 16 starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. On best form shown, he can run into the placings.

Race 4

WULFSTON was running on nicely when finishing second over this C&D. The son of Wylie Hall is a progressive type and should give his older rivals a run for their money.

ULTIMATE JEWEL finished 0.55 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He is lightly raced and has plenty of scope.

HALLERBOS showed good improvement when finishing second over this C&D last time. He moved up like a winner, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Oh My Word Its Roy. Warren Kennedy retains the ride and if confirming that effort, he should be competitive.

Race 5

RED ROSA is one of the better bets on today’s card. She set the pace over this C&D last time and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory and in similar company, she can follow up.

ARCTIC PRINCESS ran a good race when finishing second over this C&D, four weeks ago. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She will strip much fitter and with a bit of luck in running, she should go close to winning.

SHAKEN NOT STIRRED followed up her maiden victory with a fair effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that Diamond Girl has come out and won again since. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she cannot be ignored.

Race 6

ROTUNDA finished off her last race nicely over 1600m on this course. She was reported to be changing strides that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will be at home over 2000m. She takes a drop in class and will be cherry-ripe. It is Tristan Godden’s only ride for the day and he can go home with a 100% strike-rate.

ISLA MORADA won a good race in his last start over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She takes a slight rise in class, but carries another handy galloping mass of 54kgs and merits healthy respect.

SIEGE OF ORLEANS finished 2.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

PETRA’S last three starts against stronger company have been decent. She has won once and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. The 6yo mare takes a drop in class and from pole position, she can return to winning ways.

DUBAWI PRINCESS finished 1.85 lengths behind PURPLE NKANYEZI last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her second run after a rest and will strip much fitter.

PURPLE NKANYEZI is a winner of her last two starts. She has won four times and finished second three times from nine attempts over this C&D. She received a five-pound penalty for her last victory and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

GIMME A RAINBOW has fair consistent form lines to his credit. He should have finished closer last time as his pilot dropped his reins and he cast a shoe in running. He has won twice from four starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and he will be looking to make amends.

WE ALL CHOMIES ran a decent race when finishing fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. His last victory came over this C&D and he will be staying on at the finish.

QUEST FOR THE BEST was running on strongly when finishing second over 1000m on this course. He is having his first run for the Gareth van Zyl stable and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should run into the money
