Race 1: SHOEMAKER (1)
Race 4: KARANGETANG (2)
Race 8: RAIN IN HOLLAND (4)
Race 9: BLACK THORN (4)
Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: SHOEMAKER (1)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: M de Kock
SHOEMAKER is one of the better bets on today’s card. The son of Gimmethegreenlight was slow into stide, but the manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was impressive. He would have gained from the experience and will love the rise to the mile. Richard Fourie retains the ride and the combination should remain unbeaten.
Race 3: MAHARANEE (2)
Jockey: W Kennedy – Trainer: P Peter
MAHARANEE has been super-impressive in both her victories to date. She showed good speed over 1200m at the Vaal last time, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Flower Alley has plenty of class about her and she should remain unbeaten.
Race 7: KOMMETDIEDING (1)
Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: H Crawford/M Rix
KOMMETDIEDING showed some signs of needing his run in the Grade 1 Horse Chestnut Stakes last time. The son of Elusive Fort would have come on with the run and will love the rise to 2000m. He jumps from a good draw of three and he should return to winning ways.
Top Bet For Today
Race 8: RAIN IN HOLLAND (4)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: S Tarry
RAIN IN HOLLAND won a good race in the Grade 2 SA Oaks which was the last leg of the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade drops to 2000m and the blinkers will be re-fitted. She is a class above the rest of this field and if the Triple Tiara has not taken too much out of her, she should notch up her ninth career victory.
Value Bet For Today
Race 2: PRINCE OF FIRE (5)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: JA Janse van Vuuren
PRINCE OF FIRE is much better than his last start in the Grade 2 Gauteng Guineas. He returns from a 12-week break which may have done him the world of good. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back
