Race 1

This looks a tricky race to start off the day with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. TWICE AS PERFECT showed solid improvement to finish third last time out over eleven furlongs, 0.7 lengths behind the winner and a repeat of that effort would see him right up there when they hit the line.

LUCK OF THE IRIS had to be eased at the 100m mark and then switched to secure a clear run to end up in fifth-place in her latest outing over 1950m.

SALIENT POINT made good late progress when finishing third last time out over 1950m, just over a length and a half back from the victor.

Race 2

HEY BILL is seldom far off the action, finishing fifth last time out, but just 1.25 lengths off the winner and retains the services of 1.5kgs claiming Rachel Venniker.

RICCARDO lost 1.5 lengths when 0.4 lengths behind the top choice in the race mentioned above. If jumping on terms, the gelding could turn the tables.

COROMANDEL has posted two seconds and two thirds from eight runs over this C&D and looks capable of earning a stake cheque once again.

Race 3

CORSICAN has consistent formlines to his name and battled all the way down to the wire when second last time out over seven furlongs, just a head behind the victor. He has his peak run and looks to be the one to side with here.

ALFATORIO did not quite go on with his effort when ending up in fourth spot in his latest start over a mile, just under six lengths behind the winner. He gets Keagan De Melo in the irons which is a big plus.

LAW COURT is a lightly raced gelding, having had just the three runs to date, but all over the mile journey. On his first two efforts, he comes into this contest with some sort of chance.

Race 4

PUFF OF SMOKE has cracked pole position and raced up with the pace when finishing third in her last outing over six furlongs, 1.2 lengths back from the victor. She should have no issue with the drop in trip and she is sure to put her pole position to good use.

RUSSIAN DOLL won her first two starts and then has not been too far back in her next two, finishing third last time out over 1100m, just a half length behind the winner. From gate two and 1.5kgs claiming Rachel Venniker retaining the ride, she is one for the shortlist.

ADDIENA is a speedy sort who has won three of her last four outings, the latest over five furlongs by two and a half lengths. She will be looking to add to that total today.

Race 5

CRESTED EAGLE did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight and lost a shoe when finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, 1.95 lengths back from the winner. This gelding retains the services of 1.5kg claiming Rachel Venniker and from a useful draw three, he should be a big runner in this field.

BRAVE VOYAGER went to the head of affairs when ending up in second-place last time out over a mile, one and a half lengths behind the winner and seems likely to enjoy the drop in trip.

GIAMBATTISTA made late headway to finish fifth in his last start over seven furlongs, 2.55 lengths back from the victor. He hails from the in-form Wendy Whitehead yard and should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

CAPETOWN AFFAIR went from jump to wire to win his last start over seven furlongs by one length. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and from a cozy draw four, the double is very much on the cards.

SAIPAN is a known frontrunner who finished fifth in his last start over six furlongs, 1.35 lengths off the victor. He steps up in trip, but was not too far off the action three runs back over the same distance.

MOVIE MAGIC has yet to win over this trip, but has recorded four seconds and two third-place finishes over the journey and will be hoping to change that stat today.

Race 7

ICE KINGDOM was friendless in the betting market when winning his last start over a mile by just under a half length. He raced up with the pace and then finished off his race well. A repeat of that effort could see him record his third career victory.

LOU LOU THE LEGEND won his maiden race at the third time of asking and was immediately rested and gelded. He returned to finish ninth over seven furlongs, 4.95 lengths behind the victor, but it should be noted that the bit was pulled through his mouth, so that effort is best ignored. Keagan Melo retains the ride and he should be right up there when they hit the wire.

FEVER drops in trip after finishing fifth last time out over 1900m, just over four lengths back from the victor, but he is seldom too far off the action and should turn in another honest performance today.

Race 8

SHELL SEEKER made good late progress when finishing second last time out over a mile, 0.9 lengths off the winner. She changed strides over the closing stages, which clearly harmed her chances of victory. From her handy draw three and with Keagan De Melo retaining the ride, she looks to be the one to side with here.

BELL JAR was baulked and had to be switched over the latter stages when third last time out over this trip on grass, but she seems just as effective on the poly.

MISS LIALAH hung out over the latter stages when finishing third last time out over a mile, just over a half length behind the winner. She has pulled gate four and should not be easily overlooked
