Race 1

KENNEDY raced up with the pace and then stayed on well when finishing third on debut over five furlongs, just over two and a half lengths behind the winner. She would have learnt from that outing and with the natural improvement to come, she could be the one that they all have to beat.

ENEMY TERRITORY is a Canford Cliffs filly from the in-form Brett Crawford yard. If not too green, she should be concerned with the finish.

JADE’S CABERNEIGH is a Gimmethegreenlight filly out of visiting trainer Peter Muscutt’s yard. She must be quite highly thought of for her to have made the trip down to Cape Town. The betting should be the best guide as to the pairs chances.

Race 2

MARSHALL FIELD made the expected improvement when finishing fifth second time out over seven furlongs, 2.2 lengths behind the winner. He was slow away, but delivered a powerful finish from some way back that day and should have come on further with the run under his belt.

ROSH KEDESH attracted plenty of betting support when finishing third first time out over six furlongs, 4.75 lengths back from the victor, but he was slow away before staying on over the latter stages. He too would have come on with the run and with Keagan De Melo retaining the ride, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

PROMETTERE’S first three runs have all been over seven furlongs, finishing seventh in the latest 5.8 lengths adrift of the victor. He gets a handy draw three and should not be easily overlooked.

Race 3

MADISON BLUES has finished close to the winner in each of his last four runs, the latest over nine furlongs, 1,25 lengths behind the winner. If he has continued down that same path, he could prove hard to topple.

DONDER STORM stayed on well when third in his last start over this journey, two lengths off the winner. He jumps from a useful gate four and should turn in another stout effort.

AUTUMN MOON had to be steadied at the 800m mark when finishing sixth last time out over a mile, If suited to the extra ground on offer here, he should prove to be a contender with Richard Fourie in the irons.

Race 4

FUTURE SWING had his consistency rewarded with his second career win last time out over a mile by a neck. He came from last place entering the home straight to mow down the opposition in the shadow of the post. His eight out of eight draw should not present a problem given his style of racing.

BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY won his first start in Cape Town by 1.75 lengths over seven furlongs, but the manner in which he drew clear over the closing stages would suggest that he should appreciate the step up in distance. His useful draw three will be a plus.

GIMMIE A STAR won his penultimate start over a mile and was cut into when finishing fourth last time out over the same C&D, just over two and a half lengths off the winner. He returns from a 28-week spell, but if not in need of a run, he should be involved the finish.

Race 5

PONTE PIETRA has only had the three runs to date and followed up his penultimate victory over seven furlongs with a second spot finish next time out over six furlongs. He ran on well despite hanging out from the 400m and given the fact that he made his debut over a mile, he should be regarded as a big runner here.

PREVALENCE has finished third in his last two outings, the latest over this C&D 2.75 lengths behind the victor. From draw five and with Richard Fourie retaining the ride, he looks to be able to threaten the top pick.

DOUBLING UP won his maiden race in his penultimate start over the C&D and then went on to finish sixth last time out over the same C&D, 4.4 lengths back from the victor. He has his peak run here and should keep the latter, his stable companion honest.

Race 6

DESERT ROSE had her consistency rewarded with a 2,25 length victory last time out over a mile when going from jump to wire. She is yet to be unplaced in her three runs over this distance and from a cozy draw four, she will be hoping to keep that record intact.

SHANTASTIC followed up her penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a running on third over the same sprint trip last time out, 0.95 lengths behind the winner, suggesting that the extra should be to her liking.

JAM JAM also won his penultimate start, but in her case over seven furlongs and then finished third next time out when stepping up to a mile, but it should be noted that she was brushed at the 200m that day.

Race 7

HOLD MY HAND was a tad disappointing last time out in the Paddock Stakes over today’s trip, but a repeat of her penultimate run in the Fillies Guineas where she had to be held up between the 200m and 100m mark would make her a massive runner here.

LOVE IS A ROSE was cramped for galloping room when finishing third last time out over ten furlongs, just under a length back from the winner. She won her penultimate start over this C&D and with Keagan De Melo back in the irons, she could chalk up her third career victory.

SILVERLINKS has won two of her last three starts, the latest over ten furlongs by just under a half length and by 3.25 lengths three runs back over this distance.

Race 8

BLUFF ON BLUFF stayed on well when ninth last time out over five furlongs, 2.35 lengths adrift of the victor and on that effort, he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here.

WYLIE JACK is seldom far off the action, finishing fifth in his last outing over five furlongs, just over two and a half lengths back from the winner, but he did hang out from the 300m that day.

PERSISTANCE showed plenty of toe when ending up in fifth place last time out over six furlongs, 3.2 lengths back from the winner and should enjoy the drop in distance.

Race 9

WHAT A STATE is seldom far off the action, finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, 1,2 lengths behind the winner. She found outside betting support that day and will be hoping to make amends today.

DISTINCTION shifted in over the latter stages when second last time out over six furlongs, 3.25 lengths back from the winner in a workriders event. Richard Fourie gets back in the irons and she could notch up her second career win.

WINTER FURI returns from a 12-week rest and was cramped for galloping room when finishing fifth last time out over 1100m, 2.65 lengths behind the winner. If not in need of the run, she should be a big runner here
