Race 1

GIAMBATTISTA is lightly raced with good form to his credit. He was unlucky in his last start as he was carried outwards in the closing stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Wylie Hall has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. He is likely to race on the pace from his wide draw and can shed his maiden tag in this field.

JUNGLE JUNCTION produced a decent debut effort over 1000m on this course. He lost a length at the start, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Noble Tune would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should pose a threat.

BEVOETERD hails from the visiting Corne Spies stable. He ran a decent race in his last start over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He shows good speed in his races and must be included in all bets.

Race 2

RALPH THE RASCAL’S last three starts have been good. He finished 1.05 lengths behind KUUMA in his penultimate start. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. In this small field, he can notch up his fourth career victory.

KUUMA is much better than his last start on the Highveld. He won his penultimate effort over 1400m on this course in fine style. He drops back in class and with Warren Kennedy back in the saddle, he should fight out the finish.

SPIRIT OF MY FATE has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from six starts on this course. He returns from an 18-week break and if not in need of this run, he should give a good account of himself.

Race 3

SPY MASTER is the best bet on the card. He made the expected natural improvement when finishing second over 1400m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Willow Magic is a progressive type and if suited to the Polytrack, he should go one better.

CLEAN SLATE was running on nicely when second over 1700m on this course, three weeks ago. He should have no issues with the drop to the mile and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HIGH FLYBY ran a good race in her last start over 1400m at the Vaal. She showed pace and stayed on at the finish. She is carded to race on 02 April 2022 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 4

DON’T TOUCH ME was his own worst enemy last time as he overraced in the early stages. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from nine starts over this C&D. The son of Var takes a drop in class and if Kyle Strydom is able to switch him off early, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

BRANDENBURG’S last two starts have been decent. He was reported to be fatigued in his last start. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If keeping on a straight line, he should pose a threat.

SCOTTADITO showed very good signs of a form return in her last start over 1400m at the Vaal. She takes a drop in class and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 5

CYBER TIME followed up his maiden win with a decent fourth-place finish over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he was inconvenienced in the latter stages. The son of Futura jumps from pole position and if suited to this surface, he should be the horse to beat.

MONARCHY has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eleven starts on this course. The 5yo gelding is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

TEICHMAN finished 3.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

FLASHY KAITRINA ran a good race when finishing second in her last start over 1400m. She moved up like a winner that day, but was outrun in the latter stages. It is encouraging that Anton Marcus keeps faith in the ride and she can notch up her fifth career victory.

ANTICO AMORE showed good guts when winning her maiden over this C&D, five weeks ago. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate makes her Handicap debut, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

STING RAY won a good race over this C&D last time. She takes a slight rise in class, but is in a good space and can follow up.

Race 7

MISS CHARLOTTE should have finished closer in her last start as she was hanging in the closing stages. She has won three times and finished third once from nine starts over this C&D. She is back against her own sex today and can return to winning ways.

ROSE PRINCESS ran a decent race in her last start over 1700m on this course. She has won once and finished third once from four starts over this trip. She takes a slight drop in class and is one of the leading contenders.

CORDOBESA ran a decent race in her last start over 1900m on this course. It must be noted that Capetown Beauty has come out and won again since. She jumps from pole position and if confirming her recent improvement, she should run into the placings.

Race 8

SWISS BANK produced a decent comeback run over this C&D, four weeks ago. She finished 1.1 lengths behind FLOWER SEASON that day and is 1.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will strip a much fitter horse today and from her good draw of two, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

LEOPARD LADY was running on nicely when finishing third over this C&D last time. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

WINTER’S DESTINY followed up her maiden win with a good second-place finish over this C&D. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights with FLOWER SEASON on that run and there should not be much separating them where it matters most
