Race 1:

KAILENE is much better than her last start in a minor feature race over 1200m at Kenilworth. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1000m catches the eye. The daughter of Jackson tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can shed her maiden tag. 

BAY OF DREAMS moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun in the latter stages over this C&D. She gets the blinkers fitted this afternoon and if the headgear has the desired effect, she should run a big race. 

MISS JACQUELINE finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 2:

WEST POINT ran a good race on debut over 1200m on this course. He took on winners that day, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Oratorio would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating. 

FINAL DESTINY finished second in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that Mr Gonzales has come out and won again since. From pole position, he merits healthy respect. 

TJOKLIT has shown good improvement since moving to the Peter Muscutt stable. He raced wide last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. He jumps from a good draw today and merits healthy respect.  

Race 3:

WILD COAST'S last start in the Grade 2 Green Point Stakes can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He won the KZN Guineas over this C&D last year. The son of Trippi is the best weighted runner in this contest and if not in need of the run, he should take a power of beating. 

SEVENTH GEAR may not have seen out the 2500m last time. He returns from a 13-week break, which may have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this distance. From pole position, he should be one of the leading contenders. 

SHARE HOLDER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. If switching off early, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4:

RUBY SKY is much better than her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1200m catches the eye. She gets the cheek pieces fitted this afternoon which should keep her mind on the task at hand. It is encouraging that Warren Kennedy keeps faith in the ride and from pole position, the combination should find themselves in the winner's enclosure. 

RAIN WEAR has finished second in her last two starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

DIAMONDS AND TOADS was running on nicely to finish second over 1400m on the polytrack last time. She finished 4.1 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate start. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result. 

 

 

Race 5:

LHASA STAR has shown good improvement in her last two starts for the Darryl Moore stable. She was squeezed at the start last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race caught the eye. She gets the cheek pieces fitted and with a bit of luck in running, she should go one better here. 

HELLO TOMORROW found plenty of betting support when finishing second over this C&D last time. If repeating that effort today, she should be one of the leading contenders. 

SERENA SLAM finished 0.55 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables. 

Race 6:

WINTERTIME showed signs of needing her comeback run against the males. It must be noted that Fever has come out and won again since. The daughter of Visionaire takes on her own sex today and should strip much fitter. From her good draw of two, she may be the one to cause the upset. 

SACRED IBIS has decent recent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that Keep On Dancing has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she will be staying on at the finish. 

RISE is much better than her last start when racing wide around the turn. She takes a drop in class today and from pole position, should find a form return. 

Race 7:

LOVE BOMB was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes last time. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Oratorio is the best weighted runner in this contest and if not in need of the run, she should be the one to beat. 

POINT OF SALE ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Prix Du Cap last time. She takes a drop in class this afternoon and with Lyle Hewitson in the saddle, she should pose a threat. 

FIFTYSHADESDARKER'S last two starts have been decent. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She finished third in her only attempt on this course and must be included in all bets.

Race 8:

MASTER OF DESTINY was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. He jumps from a good draw of two and with a bit of luck in running, he can follow up. 

CANADIAN BOLT moved up like a winner last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts on this course. If overcoming the wide draw, he should pose a threat. 

MOVIE MAGIC produced a good comeback run over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was eye-catching. He should strip a much fitter horse and can run into the money
