I LIKE IT HOT is lightly raced with good form to her credit. She should have won her last start over this C&D as she shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. She returns from a short 10-week break which would have done her the world of good. She meets the right field and if Sean Veale is able to keep her on a straight line, she can shed her maiden tag.
MIA SOPHIA has good recent form lines to her credit. She finished 2 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
GUEST GETORIXX has finished third in her last five starts. She finished 4 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 2
RENAISSANCE MAN was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He finished 3.4 lengths behind FAUSTINO in his penultimate start. He is 7.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Captain Of All shows good speed in his races and if not in need of the run, he can return to winning ways.
FAUSTINO fought hard for his last victory over this C&D. He has won four times, finished second once and third once from eight starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SIKHULU has decent recent form lines to his credit. He finished 1.9 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate start. Jason Gates steps back into the saddle and he must be included in all bets.
Race 3
FLIRTY DANCER’S last two starts have been fair. She raced wide around the turn over 2000m last time and lacked a finish in the straight. It must be noted that American Style has come out and won again since. Her debut effort when finishing second over 1600m on this course was encouraging. She is the stable elect with Serino Moodley in the saddle and she can win.
SALIENT POINT showed good improvement in her last start over 1700m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Linngari tries the 1950m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be competitive.
SEA GODDESS has produced two fair runs to date. The daughter of Ideal World is bred to love the rise to 1950m. If not too green on her course debut, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 4
RUGGER BUGGER produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he ran on at the business end was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and he will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.
ROCK N ROLL GIRL showed very good improvement in her last start over 1000m on this course. She gets the services of Richard Fourie on her return and if fit, she should be one of the leading contenders.
MASERATI ROAR was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time as he overraced in the early stages. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He will enjoy the return to this C&D and must be considered.
Race 5
NORTHERN WARRIOR ran on strongly when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has won once and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick and against similar company, he can follow up.
TRADE WAR won a game race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a massive threat.
TRIBUTE TO YOU won a good race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Wylie Hall takes on stronger, but he could be anything and may be up to the task at hand.
Race 6
PRAY FOR RAIN showed good signs of a form return when second over 1000m on the polytrack last time. He finished 1.6 lengths behind ISHNANA that day and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he will strip a much fitter horse. If keeping on a straight line, he can go one better.
AQUA BOLT ran a fair race in his last start over this C&D. The 11-week break would have done him the world of good and if not in need of the run, he can notch up his seventh career victory.
ISHNANA ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1000m on the polytrack. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from fourteen starts over this C&D. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
Race 7
GIAMBATTISTA’S last three starts have been good. He stayed on nicely at the finish over this distance on the polytrack last time. He has finished fourth on this course in the past. The son of Wylie Hall won his penultimate start under Richard Fourie and in this line-up, he is the horse to beat.
STRAWBERRY BEAR took on a competitive field in the Listed Model Man Mile last time. His penultimate run when finishing second over 1200m catches the eye. He should be cherry-ripe and from his good draw of two, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
RODRIGUEZ ran a fair race in his last start over 2000m on the polytrack. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 8
AFRICAN DUSK showed some improvement in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that See It Again has come out and won a feature race since. The son of Ideal World is a progressive type and from barrier two, he is capable of going one better.
MENELAUS has finished second in both his efforts to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last start has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SPACE COWBOY ran a decent race when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Dynasty will strip a much fitter horse today and he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
