Race 1

KITTYBOYS GIRL has improved in her last three starts. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as her pilot dropped his reins in the closing stages. The blinkers remain fitted and S’manga Khumalo may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.

SUCH A CRACKER ran a good race when second over 1600m on this course last time. She set the pace, but was outrun late by Top Ten. The daughter of William Longsword should have no issues with the drop to 1400m and is one of the leading contenders.

TWO MINDS showed some improvement in her last start over 1700m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Pathfork is a progressive type and can finish in the placings.

Race 2

IRON BARK finished 2.2 lengths behind VALIENTE last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The blinkers have done the trick on the son of Flower Alley and he can notch up his fourth career victory.

VALIENTE is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He received a six-pound penalty for his last victory and can notch up the hat-trick.

ADDIENA followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. She showed very good speed and kept going well. The daughter of Wylie Hall takes on male company, but she is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 3

ROY’S DOMINO finished 0.1 lengths behind UNCLE LUCKY last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He will enjoy the extra 100m on offer and has plenty of scope. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi retains the ride and he should be involved in the fight to the finish. UNCLE LUCKY showed very good improvement in his last start over 1600m on this course. Despite overracing in the early stages, the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ATLANTIC CITY is better than his last start suggests as he took an awkward stride at the 1300m mark. He will enjoy the return to the Polytrack and on best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

STRAIGHT UP showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 2000m on this course. He has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of three and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

CAESURA won a good race in his last start over 1600m on this course. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. He takes a slight rise in class, but is in a good space and can follow up.

BEND THE RULES has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He set the pace over 1900m last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Double Espresso. He is likely to adopt the same tactics this afternoon and he may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

QUE FOR YOU finished 0.5 lengths behind JUST VIRGINIA last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has finished second once and third twice from four starts over this C&D. The Andre Nel yard has found form of late and from her good draw of two, she may be hard to peg back.

JUST VIRGINIA followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 2000m on this course. She raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of BLAZING ASTUTE. She has cracked pole position and merits healthy respect.

RECKLESS LOVE finished 1.1 lengths behind AMERICAN STYLE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and must be included in all bets.

Race 6

DAWNOFANEWDAY was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. She received the maximum eight-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and can notch up her fourth career victory.

AQUAE SULIS ran a very good race when finishing third in her last start over 1800m on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She is back against her own sex and is one of the leading contenders.

GREENGROWTHELILACS is the stable companion of the top choice. She has finished second once and third twice from as many starts on this course. If not in need of the run, she should give a good account of herself.

Race 7

PREEMPTIVE STRIKE was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m on this course. He has finished second twice from three starts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back once again and he can follow up.

HALLERBOS finished 2.75 lengths behind MASTER OF LAW last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is better suited to this C&D and should pose a massive threat.

MASTER OF LAW showed good improvement when finishing second in his last start over 1600m on this course. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

Race 8

BLUSH OF DAWN showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She moved up like a winner that day, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Noble Storm. She has won three times and finished second twice from eleven starts over this C&D. Serino Moodley retains the ride and the pair can go one better.

BIRDWATCHER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was running on when third over 1400m on the turf last time. She does have to contend with the widest draw of eleven, but she gets the services of Keagan de Melo who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

VISION OF WILL ran on strongly when second over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that Dunyaa has come out and won again since. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect
