VALLI GAL has produced three fair efforts to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. If keeping on a straight line, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 2
SHANTA‘S PRIDE stayed on when fifth over 1100m on the turf last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She has finished second twice from as many starts on this course. The daughter of William Longsword takes a drop back in class and she can notch up her third career victory.
IMBEWU finished 1.95 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D and is a threat.
DOUBLE DREAM was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on this course. She finished 0.55 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result
Race 3
KAILENE was an easy winner of her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Jackson won her only attempt over this C&D. She is in a very good space and will be mowing down the frontrunners
SHANTASTIC is better than her last start in the Grade 2 East Coast Radio Tibouchina Stakes. She won her debut effort on this course. The daughter of Rafeef drops in class and with a bit of luck in running, she should be right there at the finish.
HOLLYWOODBOUND is better than her last start as she was reported to be changing strides. She finished 2.25 lengths behind VALERIAS DREAM in her penultimate run. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned
Race 4
RELEASE ME fought hard for his last victory over 1700m on this course. The son of Master Of My Fate received a four-pound penalty for that victory. He returns to Handicap Company and from pole position, he should follow up.
SYX HOTFIX ran a fair race in his last start over 1700m on this course. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Flower Alley will strip much fitter and he is one of the leading contenders.
EXCEEDER should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had no luck in the straight. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 5
LUNARCAM showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He would have come on from the outing and will strip a much fitter horse. Tristan Godden retains the ride and against similar company, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
LOVE IN WINTER is better than his recent form suggests. He was reported to be lame on his right hind behind JUSTAGUYTHING last time. The blinkers remain fitted and if putting his best foot forward, he should be one of the leading contenders.
JUSTAGUYTHING is better than his last start over 1200m on this course. He won a good race in his penultimate run over this C&D. The 6yo gelding runs well for Keagan de Melo and the combination cannot be ignored.
Race 6
USA‘S HOPE has good recent form lines to his credit. He was running on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The son of The United States is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From his good draw of four, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL fought hard for his last victory over 1100m in the Non-Black Type SABC Sport Durban Dash. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Captain Of All makes his stable debut and if settled into his new surroundings, he should run a big race.
DONQUERARI finished 1.7 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
SHAVOUT did not settle in his last start over 2000m and understandably lacked a finish in the straight. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding has dropped to a competitive rating and from pole position, he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line
IBUTHO got up on the line when winning his last start over this C&D. The blinkers have done the trick on the son of Duke Of Marmalade. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of three and merits healthy respect.
WAVE WARRIOR‘S last three starts have been good. He has won once, finished second once and third three times from six starts over this C&D. He has another wide draw to overcome, but with luck in running, he should be competitive.
Race 8
MALCOLM‘S DREAM challenged strongly in the Non-Black Type Willow Magic KZN Breeders 1600 (F&M) last time, but found one too good in the form of Magical Flight. The daughter of Master Of My Fate takes a drop-in class and with a bit of luck in running, she should be the one to beat.
JAZZ DIVA followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Master Of My Fate takes another rise in class, but she is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
GELSOMINA stayed on when sixth over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and from pole position, she should be right there at the finish
