Race 1

MK‘S DREAMS was an easy winner of his last start over 1160m on the Standside course. Despite receiving a bump when leaving the start, he showed a good turn of foot and drew off in the latter stages. The son of Erupt should have no issues with the step up to the mile. He is a progressive type and can follow up.

BOM BOM is better than his last start in the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (C&G). He won a good race in his penultimate start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WE ARE THE LOGANS ran a fair race against older rivals over 1700m at the Vaal last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is back against his own age group and cannot be ignored.

Race 2

BEY SUYAY was running on when second over 2000m on this course last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. He takes a slight drop-in class and can go one better.

TIZONA has good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this distance on the Standside course last time, but was outrun late by Atticus Finch. The son of William Longsword is in a good space and he merits healthy respect.

NORDIC REBEL finished 4.95 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo which will help his chances.

Race 3

KING OF THE SEAS produced a decent debut effort over this C&D. He understandably raced green, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of New Predator returns from a 10- week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. With the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

FAST DUTY ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. He showed good speed, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Runway Bomb. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he should go close.

RAPTOR ISLAND ran a fair race in his comeback run over this distance at the Vaal. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of Dynasty may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

Race 4

ALESIA‘S LOVE may not have seen out the 1450m in her last start. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the drop to 1200m and in this type of field, she can improve to win if keeping on a straight line.

CICADIDAE has finished third in both her efforts to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

INNER SENSE showed good improvement in her last start over this distance at the Vaal. She showed good speed, but was caught late by Raining Rubies. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If confirming her recent improvement, she should be involved at the finish.

Race 5

VIVA SPIRIT produced a decent debut effort over 1000m on the Standside course. He was slow into stride, understandably raced green but stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Erupt would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

NEW MEXICO showed very good improvement in his last start over this distance at the Vaal. He found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. The son of Ideal World is a progressive type and may have more to come.

DARING ACT stayed on when third in his stable debut over this C&D last time. Kabelo Matsunyane retains the ride and if repeating that effort, he should be competitive.

Race 6

SECRET RECIPE moved up like a winner in her last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course, but was outrun late by Be Real. The daughter of Pomodoro may be better suited to this shorter run-in. She meets the right field and can go one better.

CALL TO GLORY went fast up front over this distance on the Standside course and compounded late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If Denis Schwarz is able to switch her off early, she can shed her maiden tag.

WONDER I DO was in need of her debut effort over 1200m on this course. She would have come on from the run and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should run into the money.

Race 7

DANCING DORA raced from just off the pace over 1160m on the Standside course, moved up well but was outrun late by Silent War. The daughter of Pomodoro has dropped to a competitive rating. She is back against her own sex today and can notch up her sixth career victory.

METEORIC showed good speed over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Bright Star. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Pomodoro may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

THERE SHE GOES‘ last two starts have been decent. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 8

BREEZE OVER finished 0.9 lengths behind MAMBO COME TESIO last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Twice Over tries the 3000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he may be the one to beat

MAMBO COME TESIO is a winner of his last two starts. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he should not have any issues with the rise to 3000m. The son of Mambo In Seattle is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

KIND JUDY finished 2.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables.

Race 9

THE INKOSANA found betting support when winning his last start over 2000m on this course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. The son of Louis The King won his only attempt over this C&D. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siyanda Sosibo retains the ride and he is the horse to beat.

CELTIC RUSH is a winner of his last two starts. He takes a drop in class, but his big mass of 62kgs is a slight concern. The son of Willow Magic is in a good space and merits obvious inclusion.

ROMEO‘S MAGIC finished 6.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
