Race 1

PRINCESS JO produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. She lost two lengths leaving the starting stalls, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Global View would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat.

DADDY’S JET cost herself leaving the starting stalls last time. Her debut effort when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville was encouraging. If jumping on terms, she should pose a threat to the top choice.

IM THE BUZZ ran a decent race on debut over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Flying The Flag would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement. She is carded to race on 28 December 2022 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 2

AERIAL DISPLAY ran on well when second over 1400m last time. The son of Pathfork is a progressive type and will love the step up to the mile. He jumps from a good draw of two and in this type of field, should take a power of beating.

DONTSTOPMENOW finished 2.9 lengths behind the top choice on debut. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he had to be switched in the latter stages. He would have come on from the run and with a bit of luck, he should pose a threat.

ARVERNI KING was unlucky in his last start as he had no clear passage in the closing stages. He drops back to the mile and is likely to race on the speed from his awkward draw of seven. The son of Vercingetorix must be included in all bets.

Race 3

PARIS RAIN showed some good improvement in his last start over 1800m on this course. He was slow into stride, but raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Ideal World is a progressive type and in this field, he is capable of shedding his maiden tag.

CASH CRUSADE ran a decent race when fourth over 1400m on the Polytrack last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

NATYAM ran a fair race on debut over 1400m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural progression that is expected, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

ACACIA’S BLOSSOM stayed on when third over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. She won her maiden on this course, five runs ago. The daughter of Flower Alley is the best-weighted runner in this contest and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

IMBEWU was doing her best work late when second over 1400m on this course last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Her record over this distance is a slight concern, but she is in a good space and merits obvious inclusion.

LUCKY MISS fought hard in the Non-Black Type River Indigo Handicap last time, but found one too good in the form of Monashada. She has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. The daughter of What A Winter may be rewarded for consistency.

Race 5

BEND THE RULES has good consistent form lines to his credit. He was not disgraced when third in a Graduation Plate over this C&D last time. The son of Noble Tune returns to Handicap Company and from his good draw of two, he may be rewarded for consistency.

JETAVANA fly jumped leaving the starting stalls last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Tristan Godden retains the ride and if getting away to a clean start, he should run a big race.

TEICHMAN won a good race in his last start over 1800m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. He meets a similar field this afternoon and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

CAPTAIN CASEY won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He should have won easier as he was green in running and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The son of Captain Of All takes on older rivals, but he looks to be above average. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and is the horse to beat.

PYROMANIAC is better than his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. S’manga Khumalo does duty and on best form shown, he is one of the leading contenders. IDEAL ACT finished 1.4 lengths behind

MR GONZALES last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Ideal World will be staying on.

Race 7

CANADIAN SUMMER produced a good comeback run in the Listed Model Man Mile. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Oratorio would have come on from the run and she should strip much fitter. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can notch up her fourth career victory.

SOUND OF WARNING returned to best form in her last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course, under S’manga Khumalo. She tries the mile for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should throw out a challenge to the top choice.

TOP ME UP HOLLY was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance on the Polytrack. She won her only attempt over this C&D. From pole position, she should finish in the first three.

Race 8

BELL JAR ran a good race when second over 1900m on the Polytrack last time. She was unlucky that day as she was struck on the head by a crop. The 8yo mare has won on this course in the past. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and with a bit of luck in running, she can notch up her fourth career victory.

FAMILY FAVOURITE was running on when second over 1600m on the Polytrack last time. The daughter of Admiral Kitten should have no issues with the step up in trip. She jumps from pole position and merits healthy respect.

RECKLESS LOVE stayed on at the finish over 1700m last time, but found one too good in the form of Rain Wear. She finished 3.65 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate effort. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 9

MAXIUMUS set the pace over this distance on the Polytrack last time, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The 5yo gelding finished second in his only attempt on this course. He is likely to adopt the same tactics today and may be hard to peg back.

CAMORA finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

PRINCE VIHAAN held on where it matters most when winning his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. He has won once and finished third once from four starts on this course. Thabiso Gumede steps back into the saddle and he can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 10

HATTA stayed on at the finish when fifth over 1400m on this course, last time. She has won once and finished third three times from eight starts over this distance. She runs well for 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa and may be the one to side with.

KINGSMEADS KRYSTL rallied late when second over 1400m on the Polytrack last time. She returns from a well-deserved 13-week break. The daughter of Visionaire races well fresh and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

ANGELIC FORT finished 2.05 lengths behind MEREDITH GREY last time. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Cole Dicken retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect
