If getting away to a clean start from barrier five, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

HAPPY FORTUNE lacked extra late when dead heating with the top choice for third last time. The daughter of Pathfork has plenty of scope and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she is one of the leading contenders. 

BLOWIN IN THE WIND has finished second in her last three starts. She showed pace over 1100m last time before getting outrun late by Hot Lava. The daughter of Querari is in a good space and merits healthy respect. 

Race 2

PERILLA is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she can bring up the hat- trick. 

BEVIES DELIGHT fought hard when second over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She should strip much fitter and may be the one to fill the exacta spot. 

STORMY CHOICE rallied late when second over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She finished 3.2 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 2kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.

Race 3

NEW FRONTIER set the pace over 2000m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Rastignac. The son of New Predator should be ideally suited to this distance. He meets the right field and from his good draw of four, he can shed his maiden tag. 

CAPTAIN OLIVER produced a promising debut effort over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. 

TIDAL ROCK is an unraced son of Trippi from the Dennis Bosch stable with Athandiwe Mgudlwa in the saddle. If not too green, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances. 

Race 4

FLYING HAFLA finished 0.1 lengths behind GOT THE FEVER last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will love the rise to 1800m. The daughter of Vercingetorix meets the right field and from her good draw of two, she should take a power of beating. 

GOT THE FEVER showed massive improvement when second over 1600m last time. The daughter of Rafeef should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be competitive. 

TAKATALVI was a tad disappointing over 1400m last time. Her penultimate run when third over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville catches the eye. If finding the form of that effort, she should be right there.

Race 5

GREY FANTACY was not beaten far in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She showed good speed and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Danon Platina is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. With luck in running, she can return to winning ways. 

SWEET JULIA has consistent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

VISION TO ACHIEVE showed good speed over this C&D last time before getting caught late by Icy Lancaster. If confirming her recent improvement, she should be involved in the fight to the finish. 

Race 6

MR MASTER STARTER ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. Despite an awkward start, he raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from ten starts over this distance. The 6yo gelding can go one better. 

GOOD TRAVELLER finished 1.95 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result. 

SMORGASBORD finished 1.65 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights which is not enough to turn the form around but he should finish closer as a result. 

Race 7

THE SHEPHERD raced from a handy position over 1500m last time but found one too good in the form of Gladatorian. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won three times from four starts over this distance. From his good draw of three, he should be the one to beat. 

STRATHCLYDE finished 0.7 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. 

NAVAJO NATION should have finished closer to the winner last time. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate run. He is 6kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. 

Race 8

BRASS BELL should have finished closer to the winner in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He raced wide around the turn but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. Three of his six career victories have come over this C&D. The 8yo gelding jumps from pole position and Kabelo Matsunyane may be able to get the best out of him. 

BEACH PALACE took on a competitive field in his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that Forgiveness has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be involved. 

GLOBAL MOVEMENT should have finished closer to the winner last time as he raced wide around the turn and hung inwards in the final 250m. He does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle
