Race 1

MENELAUS produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the Polytrack. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The son of Elusive Fort would have gained from the experience. Richard Fourie takes the ride and in this line-up, he can shed his maiden tag.

PATH TO FREEDOM finished 2.1 lengths behind ICE KINGDOM last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Pathfork is progressive and merits healthy respect.

ICE KINGDOM ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of What A Winter. Muzi Yeni steps back into the saddle and he should be competitive.

Race 2

SEE IT AGAIN has produced two good runs over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. The manner in which he finished off his last start suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The combination of Michael Roberts and Rachel Venniker are in fine form and the son of Twice Over can shed his maiden tag.

HUNTERS ARROW showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Curved Ball tries the 1400m and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

INSIGHTFUL showed very good improvement when fifth over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He is a progressive type and it is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride. The blinkers remain fitted and he may have more to come.

Race 3

AFROPOLITAN has shown good improvement in his last two starts on the polytrack. He set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Pirate Prince. The son of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the 2300m and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. ROCK FALL was well-beaten into third over 2200m last time, but is better than that effort. His form prior to that outing was decent. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders in this line-up.

TRITON showed signs of needing his last start over 1600m on this course. He tries the 2300m for the first time and should strip much fitter. He is capable of running into the placings.

Race 4

ROCKIE REEF has good recent form lines to her credit. She lost a length at the start over 1400m last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of Jackson will love the rise to the mile and will strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, she should take a power of beating.

LUNA ECLIPSE set the pace over this distance last time, found another kick and kept going well to hold all challengers at bay. She was given a five-pound penalty for that victory. She is likely to adopt the same tactics and may be hard to peg back.

MARIA COROLINA finished 4 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. All three of her career victories have come over this C&D and she cannot be ignored.

Race 5

This is a competitive Merit Rated 69 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HAPPY WANDERER from the Lola Crawford stable. He was not disgraced when finishing fifth against stronger company last time. He finished 0.4 lengths behind PHILISPIEL in his penultimate effort. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. From pole position, he can notch up his third career victory.

HAMPTON COURT was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

BLUE EYES finished 1.95 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 6

IDEAL ACT was his own worst enemy over 1600m last time as he overraced in the early stages. He finished 0.8 lengths behind AFRICAN SKYLINE, three runs ago. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. On best form shown, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

AFRICAN SKYLINE was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1400m on the polytrack. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Mogok will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SIKHULU has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from nine starts over this distance. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of ten, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7

REEFWAY was ultra-impressive when shedding her maiden tag at the second time of asking over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Rafeef takes on stronger, but she looks to have class about her and should be up to the task at hand.

KITTEN’S ADVENTURE was settled at the rear of the field over 1200m last time and the manner in which she ran on was encouraging. The daughter of Admiral Kitten will enjoy the return to the turf and from her good draw of four, she should pose a massive threat.

FAMILY FAVOURITE ran a good race when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She is likely to use her early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

Race 8

FIERY DUKE ran a good race when finishing second in his stable debut over 1200m on this course. He should have won that day as his pilot dropped his crop and he was reported to be coughing. The son of Duke Of Marmalade will strip much fitter and in this type of field, he can go one better.

BRISTOLBEAUFIGHTER showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. He has won once and finished second once from four starts over this distance. He has dropped to a competitive rating and must be included in all bets.
DIANI won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should give a good account of himself
