SPARKLING JUBILEE ran a good race on debut over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. Despite jumping awkwardly when leaving the starting stalls, she moved up well before getting caught in the shadow of the post by Futurewolff. The daughter of Oratorio would have come on from the run and she is bred to enjoy the rise to the mile. With the natural progression that is expected, she should go one better.

He was settled near the rear of the field that day and the manner in which he finished off his race, caught the eye. The son of The United States would have come on from the run and will love the rise to the mile. He takes on Maiden Company this afternoon and should take a power of beating.

GOBSMACKED is unbeaten from three starts. She set the pace in the Grade 2 Debutante last time and held on where it matters most. The daughter of Querari returns from a well-deserved 12-week break and makes her season debut. She is the best-weighted runner with just 52kgs on her back and if not in need of the run, she should notch up her fourth career victory.

KING‘S CRUSADE finished 0.5 lengths behind THE KOP last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts on this course. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Crusade and he can notch up his fourth career victory
