Race 1

SEA OF TEARS has good consistent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she received a bump at the start and she had to be eased at the 250m mark. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Crusade gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. With a bit of luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.

SHANTA’S PRIDE has produced two promising runs to date. The main concern is that she was reported to be making a severe abnormal respiratory noise last time. She will enjoy the drop back to 1200m and has plenty of scope.

CAN’T CATCH ME is the stable companion of the second choice. She may not have seen out the 1400m last time and the form of that race has been franked. Her penultimate run when finishing second over this C&D against male company, catches the eye. With a bit of luck from her wide draw of thirteen, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

HAWKER TYPHOON was slow into stride in her comeback run over this C&D, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that outing has been franked. She will strip a much fitter horse and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa, she may be the one to beat.

SUN BLUSHED didn’t settle in his last start over 1400m on the Polytrack. His penultimate run when touched off in the Grade 2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes catches the eye. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and is one of the leading contenders.

AQUA BOLT ran a fair race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He won a good race in his penultimate effort over this C&D. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo steps into the saddle and if fit, he should be competitive.

Race 3

ALPHABETTY is the best bet on the programme. She lost three lengths at the start on debut, understandably raced green but the manner in which she finished off her race that day caught the eye. It must be noted that the form has been franked. The daughter of Twice Over would have gained from the experience and from pole position, she should take a power of beating.

EDVIGE rallied late when second over this distance on the Polytrack last time. She has finished second three times from four starts over this trip. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she should fill the exacta spot.

LADY OF GOLD has shown good improvement since relocating to KZN. She stayed on at the finish when third over this distance on the Polytrack last time. The daughter of Gold Standard will enjoy the return to the turf and she can finish in the money.

Race 4

MONASHADA was not disgraced when finishing third in her last start over 1200m on this course. She was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. The daughter of Silvano will love the rise to 1400m and from her good draw of two, she is capable of returning to winning ways.

LADY LEGEND finished 0.15 lengths behind MEET AT THE GEORGE last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

MEET AT THE GEORGE finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. If repeating her penultimate run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

CUPID’S SONG won a good race in his last start over 1400m on the Polytrack. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, he can follow up.

CAPE EAGLE has good recent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. He returns to Handicap Company and will strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

CAPTAIN SEAGER showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m on this course. He stayed on nicely at the finish that day. The son of Crusade has dropped to a competitive rating and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he may have more to come.

Race 6

DEVILS AND DUST was not disgraced when finishing third in the Non-Black Type Beach Beauty Mile last time. Despite overracing in the early stages, she stayed on at the finish. She has won once and finished third twice from as many starts over this C&D. Calvin Habib takes the ride from a good draw of two and if switching off early, she can return to winning ways.

RASPBERRY BERET ran a decent race when third over 2000m on this course last time. The daughter of Wylie Hall takes a drop in class and she is one of the leading contenders.

FEELING GROOVY has produced two fair efforts since shedding her maiden tag over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

Race 7

CANADIAN SUMMER ran on strongly when winning the Grade 1 Thekwini Stakes last time. She returns from a well-deserved 14-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Oratorio has bigger plans for the season ahead, but she has the class to win in a field of this nature.

CAPTAIN CASEY was doing his best work late when fourth in the Grade 2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes last time. He has cracked pole position for his season debut and merits healthy respect.

BOUNDLESS BASH stayed on nicely when third in the Listed PinkDrive Michaelmas Handicap last time. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. From his good draw of three, he should be right there at the finish.

Race 8

CARAMEL FUDGE produced a decent debut effort over 1400m on the Polytrack. He lost a length at the start, but stayed on nicely at the business end. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Quasillo will love the rise to the mile and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

POLITICAL PARTY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

ARVERNI KING ran a fair race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The son of Vercingetorix has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. Muzi Yeni steps into the saddle and he has plenty of scope
