Race 1

RED MAGICIAN is much better than his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. His penultimate run when finishing second over this distance catches the eye. He tries the Polytrack for the first time and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the horse to beat.

LAZY GUY is still a maiden after 21 starts but has good recent form lines to his credit. He has finished second six times and third twice from thirteen runs over this distance. This is his first run on the Polytrack and he is one of the leading contenders.

GIOCATORE showed very good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He set the pace before getting caught in the shadow of the post by American Dream. If confirming his recent improvement, he may be hard to peg back.

Race 2

IMPERIAL ORDER has produced two good runs at Hollywoodbets Scottsville to date. He was running on when fourth over 1200m last time and will love the extra furlong on offer. The son of Gimmethegreenlight meets the right field and if suited to the Polytrack, he should shed his maiden tag.

MASTER OF DEFENSE is an unraced son of William Longsword from the Michael Roberts yard with Rachel Venniker in the saddle. He is related to three-time winner Luna Eclipse. If not too green in running, he should get his career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first-timers.

DOUBLE SILVER has shown improvement in his last two starts. He may not have seen out the mile last time and drops to the 1400m. The son of Twice Over is a progressive type and can run into the placings.

Race 3

CORSICAN is much better than his last start over 1000m as the jockey reported something to be amiss. His first two career outings were encouraging. The son of Eightfold Path is bred to enjoy the rise to 1700m and from pole position, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

L’ULTIMO has shown improvement in each of his outings to date. The son of The United States should have no issues with the 1700m and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ICE AND FIRE has shown improvement in his last two starts on the turf. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will be at home over the 1700m. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he can earn a cheque.

Race 4

FLIRTY DANCER produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She lost a length at the start, but the manner in which she finished off her race that day was eye-catching. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Futura would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

SUCH A CRACKER ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Calvin Ngcobo retains the ride and she is one of the leading contenders.

INHLE INTOMBI ran a fair race on debut over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that Berengaria has come out and won again since. She has cracked pole position and should make the natural improvement.

Race 5

MY CHERIE AMOUR didn’t settle in the early stages of her last start, received a bump at the 300m mark but finished her race off strongly. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will love the rise to 1900m and she should strip much fitter. With a bit of luck from the widest draw of eight, she can return to winning ways.

INGAKARA’S last three starts have been good. She has won once and finished second twice from six starts over this C&D. She merits healthy respect.

RECKLESS LOVE raced from a wide position last time, but stayed on strongly to finish second. She has cracked a good draw of two and with 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen retaining the ride, she should go close to winning.

Race 6

IRON CHEF has good consistent form lines to her credit. She stayed on nicely at the finish when third over 1600m on this course last time. She has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should notch up her fourth career victory.

FEELING GROOVY followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse is able to switch her off early, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

AMBERGLO STAR finished 1.15 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 7

MAGICALLEE has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She should have won her last start as she hung and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. She has won four times, finished second six times and third six times from 33 starts over this distance. Kabelo Matsunyane takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

LADY HEIST stayed on when fifth over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. If jumping on terms, she should be a big runner.

PRINCESS SANTO showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If repeating that effort, she should be hard to peg back.

Race 8

RALPH THE RASCAL rallied late when finishing third in his last start over this distance on the turf. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the 6yo gelding. Two of his three career victories have come over this C&D. He gets the services of in-form jockey Keagan de Melo and can notch up his fourth career victory.

PRINCE OF TARANTO showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He is versatile and despite his big mass of 61kgs, he can notch up the hat-trick.

CAPTAIN WHO has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
