Race 1

PARMENION is the best bet on the programme. He was unlucky in his last start over 1200m on this course as he had to be switched at the 300m mark. The manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Crusade and back in Maiden Company, he should take a power of beating.

CAPTAIN CATMAN showed good improvement in his last start over 1200m on this course. He stayed on at the finish, but found one too good in the form of Quiz Master. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse takes the ride and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be one of the leading contenders.

FLEET COMMANDER was reported to be changing legs in his last start on the turf. His debut effort over this C&D was encouraging. He has plenty of scope and should have say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

This is a weak Maiden Plate for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is EDVIGE from the Wendy Whitehead yard. The manner in which she ran on at the finish last time was encouraging. She will love the rise to 1900m and in this line-up, she can shed her maiden tag.

GREEN SLEEVES finished 0.6 lengths behind WHISPERING GREEN last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

WHISPERING GREEN showed good improvement in her last start over 1600m on this course. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung in the closing stages. If keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive.

Race 3

QUE FOR YOU took the lead at the 700m mark over this C&D last time, but did not go on with the effort. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Querari takes a drop in class and with her early gate speed, she should have no issues with overcoming the widest draw.

NAME OF THE GAME is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She continues to drop in the ratings and from her good draw of four, she should find a form return.

IRON CHEF was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1600m on this course. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She meets a similar type of field today and can follow up.

Race 4

RUNNING RIFLES was rewarded for consistency when winning his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, turned into the straight in a wide position, but quickened up well and held on where it matters most. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He gets the services of Rachel Venniker who will take the 1.5kgs off his back and the pair should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

QUEUE WING was running on strongly when finishing second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the drop to 1400m and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

GENTLEMAN’S WAGER finished 2.05 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 5

FLASHY KAITRINA was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1600m on this course. She does have a wide draw to contend with, but is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi which will help her chances.

LADY MACBETH won a good race in her last start over 1200m on this course. She finished 2.7 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

KINGSMEADS KRYSTL finished 0.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She will enjoy the return to 1400m.

Race 6

TRACK COMMANDER was running on nicely when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The 5yo gelding will love the rise to 1800m and against weaker company, he should be the horse to beat.

SECRET GIVER stayed on when second over 1700m last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MASTER TOBE showed good guts when winning his last start over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He finished second in his only attempt over this distance. He is in a good space and can follow up.

Race 7

DOWSER was super-impressive when winning his maiden over 1600m on this course. He took the lead at the 300m mark that day and won with a ton in hand. The son of Visionaire will love the rise to 1800m. He does take a rise in class, but has ability and should be up to the task at hand. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he may be the horse to beat.

HIGH GREEN ran a decent race when finishing fourth over 1700m last time. He has won three times and finished second once from five starts over this C&D. 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi steps back into the saddle and he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice. BEND

THE RULES has taken on stronger company in his last two starts. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. If seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can go close.

Race 8

BECKONING BEAUTY was given a strong ride when winning her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She received the minimum two-pound penalty for that victory and against a similar field, she can follow up.

MISS MAGICIAN finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

BEADED GOWN finished 2.7 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights, which is not enough for the tables to be turned. She has plenty of scope and can run into the money
