PHEDRA has produced two decent efforts to date. She set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Maria Querol. The daughter of Vercingetorix looks to be a progressive type and may be hard to peg back in the closing stages.

UNIVERSE BOSS has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He was running on strongly over 2000m last time, but it was a little too late. The son of Duke Of Marmalade doesn’t meet the strongest field today and from his good draw of four, may be the one to side with.

ROCKIN’ RINGO has won his last two starts well. He raced from a handy position last time and kept finding all the way to the line. Six of his seven career victories have come on this course. The combination of Piet Botha and Luyolo Mxothwa are in fine form and the hat-trick is very much on the cards.

He had excuses in his two prior starts on this course. The son of Dynasty does have ability and with a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to cause the upset
