Race 1

More than half of the field are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to their chances. DOUBLE GRAND SLAM is a daughter of Vercingetorix from the Justin Snaith yard with stable jockey Richard Fourie in the saddle. She is related to Star Coin who has won three times and placed twice from seven starts. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note.

UNCONQUERABLE LADY hails from the Candice Bass-Robinson yard and she is a daughter of Danon Platina. Khaya Stables retained jockey Keagan de Melo is booked to ride. She is related to six-time winner Ron’s Joy. If not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

GLAWARI may be the first raced runner past the post. She ran a decent race on debut behind Golden Sickle over this C&D. The daughter of What A Winter would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.

Race 2

ENEMY TERRITORY produced a promising debut effort over this C&D, three weeks ago. She finished 0.3 lengths behind PONTE VECCHIO that day. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Canford Cliffs would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

BARNBOUGLE finished 1.8 lengths behind PONTE VECCHIO in the race referred to above. He is 3kgs better off at the weights this afternoon and should also turn the form around.

PONTE VECCHIO showed good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Rafeef is in a good space and can feature.

Race 3

CORONATION TIME finished 1.5 lengths behind MACHETE MAN last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won a good race in his penultimate effort over this C&D. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

MACHETE MAN’S last two starts over 1800m have been decent. He is likely to have his own way in front under Luyolo Mxothwa and must be included in all bets.

ROCKIE REEF is a filly taking on the males. She ran a fair race in her last start over 1800m on this course. The daughter of Jackson has won over this distance in the past and with in-form Sean Veale in the irons, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 4

ELEGANT NOBLE was not disgraced when taking on winners in his last start over this C&D. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He ran two good races prior to that in this company. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride from pole position and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

MADISON BLUES finished 1.25 lengths behind AUTUMN MOON last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D and merits healthy respect.

AUTUMN MOON ran a good race when second over 2000m on this course last time. The son of William Longsword should have no issues with the drop to 1800m and he should run into the placings.

Race 5

MONTIEN followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1600m on this course. He stayed on at the finish that day, but found one too good in the form of Thunder Master. The son of Louis The King will be at home over the 1800m and he looks to have ability. With just 52.5kgs on his back, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

INNAMORARE should have finished closer in the Grade 3 Politician Stakes last time as he hung in the final 200m. He showed good guts when winning his previous two efforts over 1600m. The son of Master Of My Fate jumps from pole position and if keeping on a straight line, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

NIGHT RULER ran on from last when second in his last start over 2000m on this course. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Kingsbarns is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

This is a competitive Middle Stakes field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is BETTY BOOP from the Justin Snaith stable. She received a bump leaving the start last time, but finished strongly and got up where it matters most. The daughter of William Longsword should have no issues with the rise to the mile and can follow up.

TIME FLIES has good consistent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer to the winner in the Listed Tattersalls Jamaica Handicap last time as she hung in the final 500m. She drops back to the mile and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

FLEETING is the stable companion of the second choice. She has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this distance. If not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

FUTURE TURN ran on well over 1400m last time, but was caught late by Nevada King. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Futura is in a good space and can notch up his second career victory.

BARDOLINO finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. He is having his peak run and should pose a threat.

ROSH KEDESH found extra where it matters most to win his maiden at the second time of asking. The son of Vercingetorix is progressive and should love the rise to the mile. He does take on stronger, but has ability and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

VELDSKOEN followed up his maiden victory with a good fourth-place finish in the Non-Black Type World Pool The Invitational last time. He showed good speed that day, but was outrun late. The son of Snitzel has plenty of scope and on his peak run, he should be hard to peg back.

NOBLE CITY was an easy winner on debut over this C&D. He raced from a prominent position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Noble Tune takes on stronger, but he could be anything and may be up to the task at hand.

SWIFT ACTION has good consistent form lines to his credit. He raced from just off the pace last time, moved up well but was caught in the shadow of the post by Usa’s Hope. He carries another handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs and should be competitive
