Race 1

WARRIOR OF ROYALTY produced a promising debut effort over 1100m on this course. He understandably raced green, but moved up well and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Pathfork found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

ERMELO finished 2.1 lengths behind the top choice on debut. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he should make the natural progression.

FUTURE FLO is an unraced son of Futura from the Michael Roberts yard with stable jockey Rachel Venniker in the irons. He is related to six-time winner Raiseahallelujah. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 2

SUPER FAST got going too late when second over 1000m on this course last time. The son of Querari would have come on from the run and will love the step up to 1200m. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

REACH FORTHE STARS produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. It must be noted that multiple horses have come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.

COTTON RON has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this distance. Sean Veale takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 3

LA DREAMER has finished second in her last three starts. She should have won her last start as her pilot dropped his reins and she shifted inwards in the closing stages. If keeping on a straight line, she may be rewarded for consistency.

PIXIE IN LOVE was running on when second in her last start over 2000m on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi retains the ride and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LADY IS A CHAMP showed good improvement in her last start over 1900m on the Polytrack. She returns from a 29-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and if fit, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

SLEEK AS SILK was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D, against stronger. The daughter of William Longsword was given a three-pound penalty for that victory. She takes a drop in class and in this line-up, she should notch up her third career victory.

SHELL SEEKER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It is encouraging that Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and the pair merit obvious inclusion.

LEOPARD LADY was running on too late when second over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She makes her course debut and if suited, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 5

AQUAE SULIS was not disgraced when third in the Listed Michael Roberts Stakes last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this distance. The 6yo mare is back against her own sex and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

DESERT ROSE returns from the Western Cape where she won once and finished second twice. She has won once and finished third twice from as many starts on this course. If all went well with her travels, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

LADY TIPTREE got going too late when second over 1400m on this course last time. She would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1750m. From barrier two, she should run a big race.

Race 6

NORTHERN WARRIOR has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings against stronger company. He has won once and finished third three times from eight starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding takes a slight drop in class and in this line-up, can return to winning ways.

JOSHUA HOTSNAKE ran a fair race over this distance on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

ALL THE TIME is better than his last start over 1400m on the Polytrack. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. If jumping on terms, he should find a form return.

Race 7

AFRICAN SKYLINE has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He was touched off in the Non-Black Type Marula Sprint last time. He finished 0.6 lengths behind BACK TO BLACK in his penultimate run. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run and should notch up his fourth career victory.

SIKHULU finished 1.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

BACK TO BLACK is better than his last start in the Listed Michael Roberts Stakes. He won a good race in his penultimate start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. If putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive.

Race 8

KITTEN’S ADVENTURE showed very good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She showed good pace, but found one too good in the form of There She Goes from the Weiho Marwing stable. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Admiral Kitten and if confirming her recent improvement, she is capable of going one better here.

CINNAMON BLUSH finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

FLYING THE STAR has finished third in her last two starts over 1000m, despite reported to be coughing post-race. She is having her peak run and with Keagan de Melo retaining the ride, she should be competitive
