Race 1

CASINO ACE is lightly raced with fair form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time, but found one too good in the form of Navajo Dancer. The son of What A Winter is a progressive type and unless one of the unraced entrants have ability, he should shed his maiden tag.

ALWAYS FREE ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. He returns from a 33-week break, during which time he was gelded. He gets the services of capable work rider Siphiwo Feni. If not in need of this outing, he should have improvement to come.

TOM’S DINER is an unraced son of Pomodoro from the Candice Bass-Robinson yard with capable work rider Mncedi Sigenu in the saddle. If not too green, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timer.

Race 2

SAHARA CAT produced a promising debut effort in the Non-Black Type Futurity Plate, against male company. She showed good speed, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Sweetie Darling. The daughter of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better.

BLOWIN IN THE WIND finished 0.75 lengths behind WHISTLE THE TUNE on debut. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today which should be enough for the tables to be turned. With a bit of luck in running, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

WHISTLE THE TUNE won a good race on debut over this C&D. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The daughter of Captain Of All could be anything and can keep her unbeaten record intact.

Race 3

LION RAMPART produced an eye-catching debut effort in the Non-Black Type Futurity Plate. He was doing his best work late before jumping over a line across the track just before the finish. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and should love the extra furlong on offer. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

KOLA TONIC took time to find his feet on debut, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. He will be at home over 1000m and is one of the leading contenders.

SWEETIE DARLING won a game race on debut over 800m in the Non-Black Type Futurity Plate. Despite hanging outwards in the closing stages, she found extra where it matters most. She could be anything and will give the males another run for their money.

Race 4

SILVER OPERATOR was in need of his comeback run over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He is much better than his last two runs suggest. The 7yo gelding has won four times from five starts over this C&D. Bernard Fayd’Herbe steps into the saddle and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

UNDERWORLD showed good speed in the Listed City Of Cape Town Sophomore Sprint last time, but was outrun late. His last victory came over this distance, three runs ago. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and should give his older rivals a run for their money.

CAPTAIN FONTANE is better than his stable debut as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. He would have come on from the outing and on best form shown, he should be a solid back-up for the Vaughan Marshall stable.

Race 5

Trainer Justin Snaith holds a strong hand in this contest and he can saddle the first two past the post. KINGDOM OF HEAVEN won a good race in his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. He meets similar company this afternoon and can follow up.

GET IMPRESSED followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D. He raced from a prominent position, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Magic Verse. He has plenty of scope and merits healthy respect from pole position.

BARDOLINO finished 2 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result

Race 6

SAARTJIE finished 3.25 lengths behind ENEMY TERRITORY last time. She is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She won her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Dynasty will strip a much fitter horse today and she can notch up her fourth career victory.

HAPPY CHANCE was not disgraced when second in the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Diana Stakes last time. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. She tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

GOLD POKER GAME won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from nine starts on this course. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 7

ROCKPOOL showed some signs of still needing his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He will love the return to Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. His best form has come under Richard Fourie and from his good draw of four, he is capable of returning to winning ways.

PONTE PIETRA was slow into stride last time, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. He finished 1.75 lengths behind SACHDEV that day. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

SUGAR MOUNTAIN challenged strongly in his last start, but found one too good in the form of SACHDEV. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and he should be competitive once again.

Race 8

HLUHLUWE was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 2 Cape Punters Cup last time. He was settled at the rear of the field from the widest draw that day and ran on powerfully to get the better of SNOW PILOT. The son of Trippi looks to have plenty of class about him and he has a bright future. From his good draw of four, he should take a power of beating.

GREEN WITH ENVY was doing his best work late when 0.45 lengths behind the top choice in the Grade 2 Cape Punters Cup. He does have a wide draw to contend with but is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and he will be running on.

QUESTIONING moved up well last time, but did not go on with the effort. It is encouraging that Bernard Fayd’Herbe steps back into the saddle as he is unbeaten on the son of Querari. He jumps from a good draw of two and will be right there at the finish. S

Race 9

MIA’S HARPER was her own worst enemy over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time as she over raced in the early stages. However, the manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start, she can return to winning ways.

GREAT CAT has produced two decent runs since winning her maiden over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The daughter of Dynasty will love the step up to 1200m and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RANI OF JHANSI won a good race when shedding her maiden tag at the second time of asking over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and she should be up to the task at hand.

Race 10

COASTAL COMMANDER showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was outrun late. His effort when fourth behind Hluhluwe, three runs ago catches the eye. His best form has been under jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe and if putting his best foot forward, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MOYA WA LALIGA should have finished closer last time as he had to be switched out for a run at a crucial stage in the race. The 5yo gelding takes a drop-in class and with Richard Fourie in the irons, he should be competitive.

BLIZZARD finished 0.6 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. He will strip a much fitter horse and must be included in all bets
