Race 1

KAAPSE HOOP produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She showed good speed and tried hard all the way to the line. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better.

AMBER ROCK finished 1.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

IGUGULETHU is better than his last start over 1400m. His previous two efforts over 1250m were good. He should have no issues with the 1000m and should be competitive. He is carded to race on 23 December 2023 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 2

WE’RE JAMMING was in need of his comeback run over 1100m last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can return to winning ways.

ITSRAININGWILLIAM ran on strongly when third over this C&D last time. He jumps from pole position and is a solid back-up for the Justin Snaith stable.

LIGHT SPEED finished 1.15 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 3

WILLIE JOHN raced from a handy position over 1800m last time and stayed on to finish third. The son of William Longsword should not have any issues with the drop to 1400m. He has scope and may be the one to side with.

STRATHCLYDE’S last start in the Non-Black Type Model Man Mile can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He was an impressive winner on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. If not in need of this outing, he should pose a massive threat.

THE GREY KING was given a peach of a ride when winning his maiden over this C&D. He does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 4

INFRARED did not get off to the best of starts last time but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Twice Over is a horse with ability and if jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.

OLIVER raced wide around the turn over this C&D last time, but challenged strongly all the way to the line. He has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

BRISTOL HERCULES finished 0.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the wire.

Race 5

KING OF THE GAULS hails from the visiting Tony Rivalland stable. He showed good speed over 1200m last time and found extra where it matters most to hold all challengers at bay. The son of Vercingetorix tries the 1400m for the first time. If seeing out the extra distance on offer and with luck in running, he can follow up.

YAMADORI finished 1.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

SEEKING THE ONE raced wide around the turn over this C&D last time, but stayed on at the finish. He finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

This is a competitive Class 4 race and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is HAMMIES HERO from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable. He has been taking on stronger company in recent outings and drops in class. The son of Twice Over has dropped to a competitive rating and with Aldo Domeyer back in the saddle, he should be competitive.

ALL ABOUT AL stayed on when third over 1200m last time. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WILLIAM WEST has produced two good runs since winning his maiden. He takes a rise in class, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 7

TRES CHIC took time to unwind when winning her maiden over 1200m on this course last time. She had to be switched for running room at the 200m mark and drew off in the closing stages. She takes a rise in class but would have gained in confidence and there should be more to come from the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight.

APPLE CATCHER ran a fair race over 1000m on this course last time. She was slow into stride, but finished off her race nicely. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. Richard Fourie was aboard when she shed her maiden tag.

ON BOARD ran a good race when second over 1000m on this course last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The 4yo filly may be hard to peg back.

Race 8

SUDDEN SONG is better than his last start over 1800m. His form prior to that outing was consistent. The son of Sudden Storm takes a drop-in class. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Luyolo Mxothwa who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

AVIGNON has produced two decent efforts since winning his maiden. He should have finished closer last time as he was unbalanced at the 200m mark. With luck in running, he should pose a threat.

EXCEEDER finished 3.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 9

GREENLAND has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He should have won his last start as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark and had to be switched. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should be at home over 1800m and with luck in running, he should take a power of beating.

FIRINGONALLENGINES finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

FLY FUTURA stayed on at the finish over this distance last time, but found one too good in the form of Call To Unite. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can feature
