Race 1

YGRITTE was slow into stride over this C&D last time, settled at the rear of the field and how she finished off her race was encouraging. The daughter of William Longsword is having her peak run today and she should be cherry-ripe. She is the stable elect with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle and she can shed her maiden tag.

WHAT NOW MY GAL ran a decent race when third over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that Hunting Trip has come out and won again since. She shows good speed in her races and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GLOBAL SONGSTRESS has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She set the pace over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time and stayed on to finish second. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she should be competitive.

Race 2

SIR WILLIAM was a tad disappointing in his last start after producing a promising debut effort over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. The son of William Longsword has been gelded since his last outing which may have been what he needed. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and he may be the one to side with.

QUANDARY hails from the visiting Gavin van Zyl stable. He has produced three good runs to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. If jumping on terms, he should be the one to throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

BULLITT should have finished closer in his last start as he was awkwardly placed from the 450m mark to the 400m mark. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of the run, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.

Race 3

ROCKPOOL should have won his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Futura is crying out for the mile. He does have the widest draw of sixteen to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

ASPECT finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

MOHANDAS has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Future Swing. The son of Quasillo is progressive and should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4

MISS GREENLIGHT has good consistent form lines to her credit. She showed good speed over 1250m last time, but was caught late by Stiptelik. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from eight starts on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the drop to 1100m and she can notch up her third career victory.

MA BLACK finished 1 length behind DIFFERENT FACE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of What A Winter will strip a much fitter horse today and she can go one better. DIFFERENT FACE showed good speed when winning her last start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. If repeating that effort, she can follow up.

Race 5

LOVE IN WINTER is unbeaten from two starts to date. The manner in which he quickened up and drew off in the closing stages was encouraging last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of What A Winter received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He makes his course debut and if suited to the straight course, he can keep his unbeaten record intact.

MICHAEL FARADAY moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun late by Beerenberg. He should have no issues with the drop to 1100m and is one of the leading contenders.

LUNARCAM hails from the visiting Dennis Drier stable. He has good recent form lines to his credit. He won his only attempt over this distance. The son of Captain Of All will strip much fitter today and he merits healthy respect.

Race 6

GOING UP finished 0.9 lengths behind SANTA MARIA last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She won a good race in her penultimate start over 1200m on this course. She will strip a much fitter horse today and can notch up her third career victory.

WHOA WHOA WHOA finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back if fit.

SANTA MARIA was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Diana Stakes last time. She should have no issues with the drop to 1100m. Aldo Domeyer steps into the saddle and she can follow up.

Race 7

REX UNION was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 MWOS Gold Cup last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the finish. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this distance. This run will bring him on for future races, but he has the class to be competitive.

SALVATOR MUNDI was in need of his outing in the Listed Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter.

CHEWBACA finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 8

SILVER OPERATOR lost the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Matchem Stakes in the boardroom last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He would have come on from the run and has race fitness on his side. From pole position, he is capable of making amends.

JET DARK was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 1 Champions Cup last time. The son of Trippi has bigger plans for the rest of the Cape Summer season and this run will bring him on. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he will be doing his best work at the finish.

RASCALLION returns from a lengthy 48-week break. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He is expected to be in need of the run, but can finish in the first three.

Race 9

TIZONA fought hard in his last start, but found one too good in the form of the unbeaten Le Morne. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. The son of William Longsword meets a similar type of field today and if keeping on a straight line, he can go one better.

RUNNING RIFLES finished 2.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He has won twice and finished second five times from nine starts over this distance. The son of Vercingetorix merits healthy respect.

MAX THE OTTER won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The son of Vercingetorix takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand
