Race 1

STRATA has shown good improvement in her last two starts over this distance. She stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Musical Arts. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and she can go one better.

KYTHERA finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

HIGHLYCONFIDENTIAL has produced two fair efforts to date. She returns from a 12-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Stable jockey Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and if not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

WHAT A STATE has good consistent form lines to her credit. She was running on when third over 1100m on this course last time. Three of her four career victories have come over this distance. The daughter of What A Winter is in a good space and is the one to beat.

DIFFERENT FACE finished 0.8 lengths behind MISS MARGUERITE last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She shows good speed in her races and may be hard to peg back.

MISS MARGUERITE fought hard for her last victory over 1200m on this course. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Master Of My Fate runs well for Ashton Arries and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 3

PARATROOPER was given a peach of a ride when winning on debut over 1100m. He raced from just off the pace, found a kick and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Lancaster Bomber found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He could be anything and if suited to the extra 300m on offer, he can remain unbeaten.

SPRING PALACE won a good race in his first outing as a gelding. He set the pace and found a kick where it matters most. The son of Potala Palace is a progressive type and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

MONUMENTAL won a good race in his last start over this distance. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination merit obvious inclusion.

Race 4

SIDDELEY ran a good race when second in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last time. It must be noted that Luna Halo has come out and won again since. She returns from a 10-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber meets the right field and she is the horse to beat.

LILY OF THE NILE had excuses in the Grade 3 Winter Nursery last time. She won a good race in her penultimate start over this distance, under Grant van Niekerk. The well-related daughter of Erupt is one of the leading contenders.

WOMAN’S WORLD set the pace over this distance last time, but was caught late by Below Deck. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

SNOW PILOT’S last two starts have been good. He showed good speed over 1200m last time and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Lancaster Bomber will be at home over 1400m and with a bit of luck in running, he can shed his maiden tag.

OLIVER challenged strongly in his last start, but was touched off by Contiguous. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

LAUGHING WILLIAM ran a fair race over 1600m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has cracked a good draw of two and with Sean Veale back in the saddle, he should go close.

Race 6

ALLENDE was unlucky not to have won her last start as she found traffic problems in the closing stages. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. The daughter of Dynasty takes a drop in class and she can return to winning ways.

BUTTERFLY BEAUTY showed some signs of a form return in her last start over 1200m. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Elusive Fort will strip a much fitter horse today and she may be the one to cause the upset.

QUEEN OF SPARTA finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 7

CORONATION TIME finished 0.75 lengths behind MISTER MONOCLE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Louis The King is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

MISTER MONOCLE won a game race in his last start over 2000m. The manner in which he quickened up and finished off his race was eye-catching. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he is one of the leading contenders.

THUNDER MASTER is better than his last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. His two starts prior to that outing were good. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and on best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

AUGUSTA BLUE was running on when third over 1400m last time. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. Keagan de Melo steps into the saddle and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he is capable of bringing up his second career victory.

FUTURE TURN stayed on when third over 2000m last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this trip. He is versatile and Richard Fourie should be able to negotiate the widest draw.

SILENT TRIGGER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He continues to drop in the ratings and can earn a cheque for his patrons.

Race 9

WECANGOALLNIGHT was an easy winner in his first run as a gelding over this C&D. The manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He would have come on from the outing and can follow up with another victory.

MOUNT PLEASANT finished 4.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today which is enough to turn the tables. However, the top selection won easier than the official margin suggests and he may still have the upper hand.

CHAMPION WARRIOR ran a fair race in his comeback run. He finished 4.65 lengths behind the top choice that day. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
