Race 1

FOUR JACKS is a juvenile taking on older horses. He produced a promising debut effort over this C&D, eight weeks ago. He was green in running, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye- catching. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

LUNCH MONEY understandably raced green on debut over the 1000m, but stayed on nicely at the finish. He would have come on from the run and will enjoy the extra furlong on offer. With the natural progression, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

ZYGI finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 2

SWIFT ACTION has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. The manner in which he stayed on over 1000m last time was encouraging. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and may be rewarded for consistency.

WINTER PEARL stayed on when fourth over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FORT RED finished 0.05 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 3

PROMETTERE challenged strongly in his last start, but found one too good in the form of Inside Story. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, he can go one better.

MARSHALL FIELD showed some improvement in his last start over 1800m. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He has plenty of scope and will be mowing down the frontrunners

LAUGHING WILLIAM raced from a handy position last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Numzaan. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 4

DOUBLING UP finished 1.75 lengths behind MACHETE MAN last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The drop to the 1800m will suit him well as he over raced in his last start over 2000m. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if jumping on terms, he can notch up his second career victory.

MACHETE MAN showed good guts when winning his last start over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. He is likely to adopt the same tactics and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

MISTER MONOCLE was an easy winner of his last start over 2000m. It is interesting that Richard Fourie has opted to ride the top choice. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 5

ROYAL AUSSIE won a game race in the Non-Black Type WSB Gold Rush last time. He raced from a handy position and kept finding all the way to the line. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break and if not in need of the run, he can follow up.

WE‘RE JAMMING is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. On his best form shown, he should be right there.

TOUT A FAIT set the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time, but was touched off by Gem King. He has won four times, finished second once and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. He always gives of his best and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

GOLDEN HOSTESS was not disgraced when third in the Grade 1 Schweppes Majorca Stakes last time. She ran a creditable race when 2.3 lengths behind Princess Calla in the Grade 2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes in her penultimate run. She is the class horse in this race and if not in need of the run, she should take a power of beating.

HAPPY CHANCE ran a creditable race in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas last time. She would have strengthened up during her 18-week break. The 1200m may be on the sharp side, but she has ability and will be running on.

GIMME‘S LASSIE stayed on when third in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap last time. She will strip a much fitter horse today and can feature.

Race 7

RIO QUERARI has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts, the latest of which was in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes. It must be noted that the horse that finished fifth that day has come out and won since. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The 6yo gelding can notch up his seventh career victory.

IRISH MORNING is better than his last start and he returns from a 21-week break. His form prior to that run was good. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and if fit, he should have a say.

MR COBBS ran a fair race in the Grade 2 Khaya Stables Diadem Stakes last time. His penultimate run when winning over 1000m, catches the eye. He will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 8

SUGAR MOUNTAIN was in need of his comeback run over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. He was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. The son of Silvano is unbeaten from three starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and with Aldo Domeyer back in the saddle, he can return to winning ways.

SOLAR POWER was running on too late when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He has won three times and finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should run a big race.

MONTIEN has finished second in his first two runs out of the maidens. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. He has plenty of scope and if the 1400m is not too short, he should go close
