Race 1

CORSICAN produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the Polytrack. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The son of Eightfold Path would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating in this line-up.

EUGENE is an unraced son of The United States from the Dean Kannemeyer yard with stable jockey Keagan de Melo in the saddle. He does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this type of field. If not too green, he should get his career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

FORGOTTEN TIME was disappointing in his last start over this C&D. His penultimate run behind Kitchakal was encouraging. If putting his best foot forward, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

MCCARTNEY ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. He showed good pace and stayed on nicely behind Kitchakal. The son of Trippi will strip a much fitter horse today and with Gareth Wright retaining the ride, he should be hard to peg back.

GREAT TIMES hails from the visiting Brett Webber stable. He has finished second in his last four starts. If all went well with his travels, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

MASERATI ROAR is an unraced son of Rafeef from the Mike Miller yard with Serino Moodley in the saddle. He is related to five-time winner Only Him. If not too green, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 3

ISN’T SHE BONNY caught the eye when finishing second on debut over 1200m on this course. She showed good pace before getting caught in the shadow of the post by Petit Verdot. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

VICTORY BELLE finished 0.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. The daughter of Rafeef is a progressive type and should throw out a big challenge.

ANGELIC FORT should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the closing stages. The daughter of Elusive Fort will strip much fitter today and if keeping on a straight line, she should fight out the finish.

Race 4

PLATINUM SKY has improved in his last two starts after the gelding. He stayed on nicely when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Silvano will love the rise to 1950m and should be at peak fitness. Keagan de Melo steps into the saddle and he should return to winning ways.

YOUCANTHURRYLOVE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He rallied late when second over 2000m at Turffontein last time. He is in a good space and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KEEP ON DANCING ran a fair race in the Listed Off To Stud Stakes last time. She has won her only attempt over this C&D. On best form shown, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 5

LOOKING HOT showed some signs of a form return in her last start over this distance on the Polytrack. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Time Thief has dropped to a competitive rating and if suited to this course, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

HER ROYAL MAJESTY had excuses in her last start and is better than the run suggests. She finished 0.05 lengths behind CANDY FOR MY MOMMY in her penultimate run. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

CANDY FOR MY MOMMY was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She was given a three-pound penalty for that victory and in similar company, she can follow up.

Race 6

TWIN STRIKE ran a fair race in his post maiden run in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion. He was reported to have bled that day and returns from his suspension. The son of Ideal World is the best-weighted runner in this contest and if not in need of this outing, he may be the one to beat.

PARTY TIME ran a decent race when fifth over this C&D last time. He showed good pace and stayed on at the finish. The son of Vercingetorix should be the first older horse past the post.

PYROMANIAC returns from a 20-week break, during which time he was gelded. He is a horse that is loaded with ability and if not in need of the run, he can return to form.

Race 7

SEA MASTER has finished second in his last four starts. Despite jumping outwards leaving the start last time, he stayed on strongly to finish second over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and he should be rewarded for consistency.

WITH PLEASURE won a good race in his last start over 1950m on this course with the blinkers fitted. The son of Oratorio should have no issues with the drop to 1750m and merits healthy respect.

ARTIC TUNE’S last three starts have been fair. The 5yo gelding should have no issues with the rise to 1750m. He takes a drop in class and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should run into the money.

Race 8

ANGELSEA stayed on strongly in her comeback run over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The daughter of Var will love the rise to 1750m and should strip much fitter. She jumps from a good draw of three and in this line-up, can shed her maiden tag.

NATASHA ROSTOV has shown good improvement in her last two starts on this course. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Calvin Habib takes the ride and she should be one of the leading contenders.

MYTHICAL TUNE finished 0.85 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result
