Race 1

KITCHAKAL is one of the better bets on today’s programme. He produced a promising debut effort over this C&D, five weeks ago. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging. The son of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

AZTEC WARRIOR has taken on stronger company in his last three starts. He has finished second once and third once from three starts on this course. The son of Futura returns to Maiden Company and is one of the leading contenders.

CUP OF MAGIC showed good improvement in his last start over 1600m on the polytrack. He returns from a 16-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He is a progressive type and if not in need of the run, he can place.

Race 2

STRAWBERRY BEAR ran a good race on debut over this C&D. He showed good pace, shifted away from the crop and was reported to be blowing post race. The son of Flying The Flag found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work back at home. He would have come on from the run and can improve to win in this line-up.

SEATTLEGREENLIGHT made the natural improvement when fourth over 1000m on the polytrack last time. He gets the blinkers fitted this afternoon which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He will strip a much fitter horse and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WINTER PEARL ran a fair race when returning from a lengthy 36-week break. The son of What A Winter will love the extra furlong on offer. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he should strip much fitter.

Race 3

GRANDI ORECCHIE produced a promising debut effort over 1600m on this course. She was slow into stride and despite hanging in the straight, she stayed on nicely in the run down to the line. The daughter of Wylie Hall will love the extra distance on offer and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat.

VIRGINIA SWEET’S last three starts have been good. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be at home over 1750m. Richard Fourie takes the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

SPECIAL CHARM is better than her last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1600m at Turffontein catches the eye. She will enjoy the drop in distance and can run into the placings.

Race 4

INTIMIDATOR took on stronger company in the BSA Sales Cup (C&G) over 1300m last time. He ran a good race when finishing second in his penultimate start over 1200m at Kenilworth. The son of The United States will be at home over 1400m. He returns to Maiden Company and if jumping on terms, he can shed his maiden tag.

WYLIE RILEY has been unlucky in both his efforts to date. The son of Wylie Hall looks to have ability and if suited to this course, he should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

FIRE LORD ran a good race in his comeback run over this distance at Turffontein. He ran on nicely at the finish that day and would have come on from the run. He should strip much fitter and must be included in all bets.

Race 5

FEELING GROOVY is the best bet on the programme. She set the pace over 1600m on this course last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Umvoti. She finished second in her penultimate run over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs meets the right field this afternoon and Richard Fourie may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

BANDERILLA showed good improvement in her last start over 1200m on the polytrack. She returns from an 18-week break and if not in need of the run, she can fill the exacta spot.

LOVE OF GOLD was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on the polytrack. The daughter of Gold Standard would have gained from the experience and will love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can run into the placings.

Race 6

This is a competitive Merit Rated 82 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SEA MASTER from the Carl Hewitson yard. He lost two lengths leaving the starting stalls last time, but finished his race off strongly when second to Running Rifles. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If jumping on terms, he may be rewarded for consistency.

RODRIGUEZ finished 0.85 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He returns from a 20-week break today. He clearly has ability and if not in need of the run, he can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 7

ONLY THE BRAVE ran a good race when second over 1700m on the polytrack last time. She moved up well that day, but was outrun late. She makes her course debut today and if suited to the track, she should go one better.

HUMDINGER has good consistent form lines to her credit. She won her only attempt on this course. She returns from an 11-week break and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE set the pace over 1600m on this course last time, but was outrun late by Drama Queen. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She should strip a much fitter horse today and may be hard to peg back.

Race 8

HAPPY WANDERER should have won his last start over this C&D as he was carried outwards in the closing stages by the winner. He takes a drop in class and will strip a much fitter horse. Marco van Rensburg steps into the saddle and with a bit of luck, can go one better.

PHILISPIEL showed good speed when fourth over 1200m on this course. The drop to the 1000m may suit him well. Rachel Venniker steps back into the saddle and he is one of the leading contenders.

PHINDA MZALA fought hard in his last start over 1100m at Turffontein, but found one too good in the form of Integrate. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Gabriel Pieterse retains the ride and the pair merit obvious inclusion
