Race 1

GRINKOV was not disgraced when finishing third in the Grade 3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Twice Over returns to Maiden company and with Gavin Lerena retaining the ride, he should take a power of beating.

AZTEC WARRIOR fought hard when finishing second against winners in his last start over this C&D. The son of Futura looks to be a progressive type and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WINNING SINGLE has finished second in both his efforts at Kenilworth. He stayed on at the finish over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Alpine Challenge. He will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and should be competitive.

Race 2

MILKTART produced a promising debut effort in a small field over 1000m on the Polytrack. She was slow into stride, raced green but stayed on nicely to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

CINNAMON BLUSH ran a decent race on debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She stayed on nicely at the finish, but found one too good in the form of Natasia. The daughter of Silvano has plenty of scope and is one of the leading contenders.

AMARANDI has been costly to follow in her last two starts. She returns from a 12-week break which may have done her the world of good. Her best run to date was over this C&D and she merits healthy respect.

Race 3

ALABAMA SKY has finished second in her last two starts with the tongue-tie fitted. She raced from a handy position last time and stayed on strongly at the finish. The daughter of Noble Tune meets the right field this afternoon. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Anton Marcus who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

SEXY SHIRAZ ran a fair race in her last start over 2100m against male company. She raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Viceroy. From pole position, she should be the one to fill the exacta spot.

AMBLE INN is having her first run for the Gary Rich stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. On best form shown, she should be competitive.

Race 4

ELECTRIC SURGE showed some signs of a form return in her last start over 1600m on the Polytrack. She was reported to be cut into and coughing that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. The 5yo mare takes a drop in class and she should strip a much fitter horse. She can notch up her third career victory.

CAPETOWN BEAUTY was an easy winner of her last start over 2000m on the polytrack. She took the lead at the 300m mark and won with a ton in hand. She received the maximum eight-pound penalty for that victory, but is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

SIEGE OF ORLEANS has finished second in her both post maiden efforts. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Rachel Venniker steps back into the saddle and she will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Race 5

This is a competitive Listed Kings Cup field and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is CHIJMES from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. He ran a fair race when finishing sixth with the blinkers fitted over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He has won once and finished second three times from 14 starts over this distance. He carries a handy galloping mass of 55.5kgs and from pole position, he may be the one to side with.

NATIVE TONGUE was given a peach of a ride when winning the Non-Black Type Fairview Mile last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Anton Marcus steps back into the saddle and the pair merit healthy respect.

CAT DADDY finished 0.6 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate start. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them where it matters most.

Race 6

SUPREME QUEST has decent consistent form lines to her credit. The manner in which she finished off her race in the Grade 2 SA Fillies Guineas was encouraging. It must be noted that Rain In Holland has come out and won again since. The daughter of Querari has class about her and with Anton Marcus in the saddle, she should return to winning ways.

MERCURY RISING was her own worst enemy in the Listed Lady’s Pendant as she lost three lengths at the start. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight makes her stable debut and if jumping on terms, she should be competitive.

SASHAY AWAY won a good race in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She returns from a 15-week break and takes on much stronger. However, the daughter of Var has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 7

SUPER EXCITED ran a fair race in the Grade 1 SA Classic last time. The jockey reported something to be amiss that day, but the veterinary surgeon found nothing obvious detected. He has won over this distance in the past and if suited to this course, he can return to winning ways.

WILLIAM ROBERTSON was reported to be fatigued and blowing in his last start. He is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. On best form shown, he should be a big runner.

SAFE RETURN was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1100m at Kenilworth. The blinkers have done the trick on the son of William Longsword and he must be included in all bets.

Race 8

FULL VELOCITY is one of the better bets on today’s card. She lost a length at the start in the Grade 3 Sycamore Sprint last time, but stayed on nicely to finish third. She is having her second run after a rest today and will strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

SEEMYVISION showed good guts when winning her last start against male company. She shows good speed in her races and runs well for jockey Brian Nyawo. If all went well with her travels, she should be one of the leading contenders.

FAVORITA’S last start can be ignored as she refused to jump. Her penultimate run when finishing 1.2 lengths behind the winner in the Grade 2 Southern Cross Stakes was encouraging. She finished second in her only attempt on this course. If jumping on terms, she should run a big race.

Race 9

LETABA showed very good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D with the blinkers fitted. He moved up like a winner that day, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Two Of Us. He takes a slight drop in class and if repeating that effort, he should go one better in this line-up.

TRUE BRIT ran a good race when finishing third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and should fight out the finish.

CAFE PACIFICA’S last three starts have been fair. The son of Capetown Noir continues to drop in the ratings and will be staying on at the finish
