KNIGHT WARRIOR is better than his recent form suggests. He continues to drop in the ratings and will be cherry-ripe. With the services of Anathi Feni, he can return to best form.
PURPLE POWAHOUSE was running on when third over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners
Race 2
ARVERNI PRINCESS has produced two good runs to date. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1500m. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON showed some improvement in her last start over 1200m. She stayed on at the finish that day, but found one too good in the form of Querandi. The daughter of Pathfork is a progressive type and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PORTO ZANTE finished 0.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
Race 3
RAPIDASH was given a peach of a ride when winning his maiden over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will be at home over the mile. The son of Danon Platina is a progressive type and with some luck in running, he can follow up.
TRUSOVA won a game race at the second time of asking over 1400m on this course. The son of Oratorio should have no issues with the step up to the mile. He jumps from a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
JOSEPHINE‘S PRIDE produced an encouraging debut effort over 1400m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. The manner in which he ran on at the finish that day was eye- catching. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be competitive.
Race 4
JANE‘S VISION moved up like a winner over this C&D last time, but cost herself by hanging in the closing stages. She was reported to be fatigued post-race. The daughter of Visionaire is a progressive type and if keeping on a straight line, she may be hard to catch.
SEA OF TEARS is still a maiden after 17 starts, but she has some good recent form lines to her credit. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
FULL OF MAGIC is the stable companion of the second choice. She took on winners in her last start over 1200m on the polytrack. Her penultimate run when second over this C&D, catches the eye. If finding the form of that outing, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 5
PLAZA ACCORD is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He showed good pace, fought hard but greenness may have cost him the victory. He found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
BENNI IN THE AREA showed some signs of needing his last start after returning from a short nine-week break. He has finished second twice from three starts over this C&D. The son of William Longsword may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
POTENT CAPTAIN was in need of his debut effort over 1000m on this course. He would have gained from the experience and will love the extra furlong on offer. The son of Captain Of All should make the natural progression
Race 6
This is a competitive Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is KUMEMORI from the Garth Puller stable. He should have finished much closer to the winner in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. His debut effort when finishing second over 1000m on this course catches the eye. If not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he can shed his maiden tag.
GORGEOUS GUY showed very good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on to finish second. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.
MASTER JOSH was touched off in his stable debut over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The drop to 1200m is no concern as he has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse.
Race 7
ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY‘S last three starts have been fair. She raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on at the business end. The drop to 1200m is no concern as she has won over this distance in the past. The 5yo mare takes a drop-in class and on best form shown, she can return to winning ways.
CINNAMON BLUSH ran on powerfully when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She runs well for Athandiwe Mgudlwa and merits obvious inclusion.
FLYING THE STAR‘S last two starts have been good. She set the pace over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Ice Star. She will be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
Race 8
ANCIENT EPIC has good recent form lines to her credit. She showed good pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time, but was caught late. She has won three times, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix is in a good space and can notch up her sixth career victory.
SABATINI finished 1.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
SWEET SYMPHONY was running on when third over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Twice Over will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

CAPTAIN‘S CHRISTY ran a good race when fourth in the Non-Black Type Clifton Stud KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate last time. She raced from a handy position that day and stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Captain Of All won on debut over this C&D, under Cole Dicken. She makes her Handicap debut, but has plenty of scope and can return to winning ways.
MIST IN SCOTLAND won a good race in her last start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. She is back against her own sex and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
BRIGHT STAR got up late when winning her last start over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She takes a drop-in class and can notch up the hat-trick.
Race 10
POWER STAR is still a maiden after 16 starts, but his recent form has been good. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1750m. Rachel Venniker retains the ride and he may be rewarded for consistency.
ABERDEEN finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
