Race 1

Ten of the horses in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to their chances. ONLY HEARTS has produced two good second-place finishes on this course. She was unlucky last time as the saddle slipped in running and she was reported to be distressed. The daughter of Querari should be at home over the 1200m and she can shed her maiden tag.

BEGONIA showed good improvement in her last start over 1100m on this course. She showed good speed that day and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Ato looks progressive and she is a solid back-up for the Mike Miller yard.

GET IN THE Q is an unraced daughter of Querari from the Mark Dixon yard with Keagan de Melo up. She is related to six-time winner Silent Crusade. If not too green, she should get her career off to a positive start.

Race 2

NDAKA has finished second in his last two starts over this C&D. He showed good speed last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Bless Me Fred. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The Yogas Govender stable has found form in recent meetings and the son of Willow Magic may shed his maiden tag.

SPECIALLY SELECTED was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. The son of Duke Of Marmalade may be at his best on the turf. Warren Kennedy retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

KING’S SPEAR finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. He was squeezed at the start and reported to be lame on his right fore leg. With a bit of luck in running, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 3

NOBLE STORM has run two decent races since returning from an 11-week break. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. The daughter of Noble Tune is having her peak run today and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

RUN AGAIN finished 1.45 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result. She should enjoy the extra furlong on offer and is one of the leading contenders.

BAY OF DREAMS showed good improvement in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She stayed on nicely at the finish, but found one too good in the form of Winter’s Destiny. She should strip a much fitter horse and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be competitive.

Race 4

AMBLE INN ran a good race when finishing third over this C&D last time. She raced wide around the turn, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She has cracked a good draw of four and can shed her maiden tag.

FEARLESS KITTY has finished second in her last three starts. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will enjoy the 1750m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

VICTORY VISION finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

CLEAN SLATE ran a fair race in his local debut over 1200m. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. The son of Time Thief will enjoy the rise in distance and he should strip a much fitter horse. Serino Moodley takes the ride and he may be the one to side with.

NAPOLEON should have finished closer last time as he took an awkward stride at the 600m mark. Anton Marcus steps back into the saddle and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should pose a threat.

TRITON was a tad disappointing in his last start on the Polytrack. His penultimate run when finishing second over 2000m on the turf at Hollywoodbets Greyville was encouraging. He makes his course debut and if suited to the track, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

HEY BILL finished 2.8 lengths behind BILLY BAZOOKA last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and can notch up his second career victory.

BILLY BAZOOKA was an easy winner when having his own way in front over this C&D, three weeks ago. He meets a similar type of field and with 4kgs claiming apprentice Donald Geerthsen retaining the ride, he can follow up.

CHEWBACA has good consistent form lines to his credit. The drop back to 1950m should not pose a concern and if keeping on a straight line, he should fight out the finish.

Race 7

SIR MICHAEL lost a length at the start in the Listed Michael Roberts Stakes last time but finished his race off strongly. He has won once and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. The son of Kingsbarns takes a drop in class and if jumping on terms, he can notch up that elusive third career victory.

MACARA ran a decent race in her comeback run over 1400m on this course, four weeks ago. She was reported to be distressed post-race. The daughter of Vercingetorix has won twice from three starts over this distance and will strip much fitter. She has the potential to cause an upset.

TARANTINO was switched off at the rear of the field last time and finished strongly when second. He returns to Handicap company and will be doing his best work at the finish.

Race 8

This is a competitive Merit Rated 82 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is NIKIYA from the Michael Roberts stable. She has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. She takes a slight drop in class and may be the horse to beat.

SASHAY AWAY showed good guts when winning her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She drops back to 1200m which should not pose a concern. She has plenty of scope and despite her big mass of 60.5kgs, she merits healthy respect.

PRINCESS DONELLY was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She takes a rise in class, but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 9

QUANT MASTER showed very good improvement in his last start over 1000m on the Polytrack. He has changed stables since that outing. The son of Master Of My Fate has won twice, finished second twice and third once from eight starts on this course. Donovan Dillon retains the ride and against slightly weaker opposition, he should go close to winning.

DISPICABLE showed good signs of a form return in his last start on the Polytrack. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eight starts over this distance. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Rachel Venniker takes the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

BERNIE’S DREAM finished 0.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them at the wire
