Race 1

AFRICAN FOLKLORE produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She should have won that day as she shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. She found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth has come out and won since. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should go one better.

ERROLS LEGACY finished 1.1 lengths behind the top choice on debut. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the combination should be competitive.

SECRET WINX ran a decent race on debut and was reported to have cast a shoe in running. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.

Race 2

SUPER FAST got going too late when second over 1000m on this course last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Querari will be at home over the 1200m and in this line-up, he should shed his maiden tag.

LAZY GUY has moved up like a winner in his last two starts, but has been caught late. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

AXEL COLLINS finished 2.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 3

MASERATI ROAR ran a decent race when third over 1000m on this course last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the closing stages. The son of Rafeef gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. In this line-up, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

ROYAL OASIS has decent consistent form lines to her credit. She set the pace over this distance on the Polytrack last time, but was caught late by Ideal Gift. She is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money.

MAJESTIC REIGN has produced three fair efforts to date. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. He makes his course debut and if suited, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

AFRICAN DUSK was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He returns from a 10-week break which may have done him the world of good. His penultimate run when second to See It Again was encouraging. Apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa takes the 2.5kgs off his back and if fit, he can win in this type of field.

UNSOLVED RIDDLE ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He was reported to be coughing that day. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Futura would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra furlong on offer.

UNCLE LUCKY showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1600m. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if repeating that effort, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.

Race 5

LUCKY MISS has good consistent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung and shifted away from the crop in the closing stages. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from eight starts on this course. If keeping on a straight line, she may be rewarded for consistency.

SOUTHERN CAPE was her own worst enemy over 1800m last time as she overraced in the early stages. It must be noted that Cape Eagle has come out and won again since. She will enjoy the drop in distance and is one of the leading contenders.

LET’S NOT LINGER fought hard for her last victory over 1700m on the Polytrack. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa which will help her chances. From pole position, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

This is a competitive Marula Sprint field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is AFRICAN SKYLINE from the Garth Puller stable. He ran on well in his last start over this distance, but was caught late by Back To Black. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Mogok will strip a much fitter horse and can notch up his fourth career victory.

PEARL OF ASIA finished 3.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

AQUA BOLT finished 2.45 lengths behind ISHNANA last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 7

MAQUETTE is better than her last three starts suggest. She returns from an 11-week break which would have done her the world of good. She has won twice and finished second three times from seven starts over this C&D. The daughter of Red Ray races well with a low weight to carry and if fit, she may be the one to cause the upset.

WARSHIP won a good race in her last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. She is having her first run for the Michael Roberts stable. She is better suited to further, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

SWEET SYMPHONY should have finished closer last time as she had to be switched for running room at the 400m mark. The daughter of Twice Over will strip much fitter and with a bit of luck, she should have a say.

Race 8

MANHATTEN CAFE fought hard for his last victory over 1600m on the Polytrack. He won his maiden on this course. The son of Ashaawes received a five-pound penalty for his last victory and against similar opposition, he can follow up.

CAMORA was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He has won four times and finished second three times from ten starts over this trip. The son of Master Of My Fate is having his first run on this course and if suited, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

MR PIGALLE is the stable companion of the top choice. He won a good race in his last start over this distance on the Polytrack. His record on this course is a concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored
