Race 1

SABATINI showed very good improvement in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She showed good speed and stayed on to finish second. The daughter of What A Winter is a progressive type and she can go one better in this type of field.

GET IN THE Q showed signs of needing her debut effort over 1200m on this course. She found some betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. The well-related daughter of Querari should make the expected natural improvement.

BEGONIA finished 0.6 lengths behind the second choice last time. Her penultimate run when finishing fourth over 1100m catches the eye. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

Race 2

KHANYISA INDLELA ran a good race in his first run as a gelding. He raced from just off the pace and the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should strip much fitter and with Anton Marcus in the saddle, he is the horse to beat.

FIRU STAR has run two fair races to date. The son of Crusade is bred to enjoy the step up to 1500m. He steps onto the turf for the first time and has plenty of scope.

LADOOSHKA should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be steadied at the 150m mark. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, he should fight out the finish.

Race 3

This is a weak Maiden Plate for the girls and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is RASPBERRY BERET from the Carl Hewitson stable. She took on male company in her last start over 1000m and stayed on at the business end. The daughter of Wylie Hall will love the rise to the mile and in this type of field, she may be the one to side with.

AJRAAS’ last two starts on this course have been fair. She gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. She jumps from pole position and is one of the leading contenders.

KOFIKO showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m on the Polytrack. She tries the mile for the first time and should strip much fitter. Ashton Arries retains the ride and she may have more to come.

Race 4

SABRINA FAIRCHILD won a good race in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She was reported to be coughing that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth has come out and won since. If all went well with her travels, she should be the horse to beat.

FLYING THE STAR’S last start can be ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. She has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from ten starts on this course. On best form shown, she should go close to winning.

FAMILY FAVOURITE is better than her last start on the Polytrack. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. Anton Marcus takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 5

GO MAN GO was not disgraced when finishing third against stronger company over this C&D last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight takes a drop in class and should be cherry-ripe. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Rachel Venniker takes the ride and the pair may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. He is carded to race on 27 March 2022 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

SUPER AGRA just lasted long enough to win his last start over 1100m at Turffontein. He has won twice and finished second three times from eight starts over this distance. Warren Kennedy knows him well and the pair merit healthy respect.

BLAZE OF SILK was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. He is a better horse over the minimum trip, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored.

Race 6

LORD WYLIE stumbled badly leaving the start last time and was reported to be cut into. However, he ran a very good race finishing third. The son of Wylie Hall takes a drop in class and if getting off to a good start, he should be too good for this field.

INDUS KNIGHT hails from the visiting Paul Peter stable. He ran a fair race in his last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He finished third in his only attempt over this distance. He runs well for Warren Kennedy and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

NORTHERN WARRIOR should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched at the 400m mark. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive.

Race 7

PALACE WIND has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts under 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Cole Dicken. He set the pace in his last start over this distance and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

LAUREL LANE is a filly taking on the males. Her last two starts with the blinkers fitted have been decent. She jumps from a midfield draw and will be staying on at the finish.

FRENCH MASTERPIECE found the 1200m in his last two starts on the sharp side. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He carries a light mass of 51.5kgs and may be the one to cause the upset.

Race 8

MCKENNA SKYE has good recent form lines to her credit. She was her own worst enemy last time as she overraced in the early stages. She has won twice from four starts over this distance. If Muzi Yeni is able to switch her off early, she should be the horse to beat.

LUCKY MISS moved up well in her last start, but lacked extra late. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo steps back into the saddle and she can notch up her third career victory.

PRINCESS DONELLY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She received a bump at the start last time, but showed speed before getting outrun late. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should be competitive
