Race 1

KWAGGA BLITZ showed good speed over 1200m on the Inside course last time before getting outrun late by Busstopinhounslow. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Captain Of All meets the right field this afternoon and he can shed his maiden tag.

VIBE SA has finished second in his last five starts. The son of Just As Well has been costly to follow. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MYSTIC VISION showed improvement in his last start over 1200m on the Inside course. The son of Rafeef is a progressive type and the blinkers should keep his mind on the task at hand. He has scope and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

MAVERICK QUEEN produced an encouraging debut effort over 1200m at the Vaal. She understandably raced green but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience. She takes on her own sex today and can shed her maiden tag.

LIKE A PRAYER was in need of her debut effort over 1400m at the Vaal. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Danon Platina drops in trip and should have improvement to come.

KOMATI RIVER is better than her last start at the Vaal. She returns from a 19-week break which may have done her the world of good. She is a filly with scope and if not in need of the run, she should finish in the money.

Race 3

COSMIC SPEED is better than his last start in the Grade 1 World Pool Moment Of The Day Premiers Champion Stakes. He won a good race in the Grade 2 Durban Golden Horseshoe in his penultimate run. The son of Querari would have strengthened up during his time off the track. He is the class horse in this contest and may be the one to beat.

CYMRIC should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung outwards in the final 500m. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Vercingetorix is one of the leading contenders.

RONDEBOSCH followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1000m on this course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and may be ahead of the handicapper.

Race 4

ICHACHA has been costly to follow in his last three starts. He cost himself winning last time as he hung in the final 200m. The son of Danon Platina meets the right field and if keeping on a straight line, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

SANTIAGO‘S PRIDE stayed on when second over 2000m at the Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Another Universe. He should have no issues with the drop to 1800m and he is one of the leading contenders.

SERRANO has good form lines to his credit. He stayed on when third over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody will love the rise to 1800m and he will strip much fitter. He has cracked a good draw of two and merits healthy respect.

Race 5

BANHA BRIDGE finished 0.5 lengths behind TO THE RESCUE last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Two of his seven career victories have come on this course. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

TO THE RESCUE set the pace over this distance at the Vaal last time and fought hard all the way to the line to hold Ideal Future at bay. He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and can follow up.

ROYAL MAZARIN finished 4.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and he should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

WHAFEEF stayed on when second over 1800m on this course last time. Rule By Force came out and finished third in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup since. He has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from 12 starts over this distance. He drops in class and will strip much fitter. If jumping on terms, he may be the one to beat.

COMMAND PILOT finished 4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

SOUTHERN BLAZE is a winner of his last three starts. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts on this course. The 6yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 7

HAIR TRIGGER followed up his maiden victory with a decent sixth-place finish over 1450m on the Inside course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He has plenty of scope and may be the one to side with.

RATTLE BAG won a game race in her last start over 1450m on the Inside course. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She gets the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew which will assist her cause. She is capable of giving the males a run for their money.

FOSTINOVO was in need of his comeback run over 1000m on this course. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. From pole position, he should find a form return.

Race 8

FRANCINE showed good speed when winning her last start over 1200m at the Vaal. She received a five- pound penalty for that victory. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Silvano meets a similar line-up this afternoon and she can follow up with another victory.

CALANTHA followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1200m at the Vaal. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice that day. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

CHROME TOURMALINE stayed on when second over this C&D last time. She returns from a 31-week break. If not in need of this outing, she has the ability to win.

Race 9

ONE PARTY finished 1.25 lengths behind TWICE AS WILD last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of One World will be mowing down the frontrunners and she may be the one to cause the upset.

FASTNET FILLY won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

RAINING RUBIES tried hard when second over 1200m at the Vaal last time. She is in a good space and can earn another cheque for her patrons
