Race 1

MASTER CHRISTMAS was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was inconvenienced at a crucial stage and was reported to be cut into. The son of Master Of My Fate is suited to the 1800m and with luck in running, he can shed his maiden tag.

OFFICER IN COMMAND finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

MASTER TIK TOK showed some improvement in his last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests he should have no issues with the 1800m. He is a progressive type and may have more to come.

Race 2

SPECIAL CHARM challenged strongly in the Non-Black Type 4Racing Sun Chariot Handicap last time, but found one too good in the form of United Council. She drops back in class and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew, she can go one better.

MOUNT ETNA was an easy winner of her last start over 2000m on this course. She tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can follow up.

PRETTY IN PEARLS finished 2.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. She is carded to race on 02 January 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 3

ZEUS was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup last time. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was switched for running room at the 400m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With luck in running, he should take a power of beating.

NONE OTHER was doing her best work at the finish when sixth in the Grade 3 Betway Victory Moon Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She should give the males a run for their money.

LITIGATION ran a fair race over 1600m on this course last time. He tries the 2400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can show.

MAGIC SECRET was in need of her debut effort over 1160m on this course. She would have come on from the run and will enjoy the step up to 1400m. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and there should be improvement to come.

Race 4

TSAR BOMBA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He was running on when second in the Non-Black Type WSB Heritage Consolation last time. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. If not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he can return to winning ways.

ANGEL OF WAR finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

CORNWALL stayed on when third over 1100m on this course last time. He was an easy winner of his penultimate start over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 5

UNZEN was given a peach of a ride when winning the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage last time. He raced from a handy position, pounced at the right time and kept finding all the way to the line. He does have a wide draw of ten to overcome but with luck in running, he can follow up.

SHOEMAKER stayed on when third over 1800m on this course last time. Two of his three career victories have come over this distance. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

SILENT WAR finished 2.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

WHITE PEARL has finished second in her last three starts. She jumped inwards leaving the start in the Grade 3 Betway Fillies Mile last time and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that Gimme A Nother has come out and won again since. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start, she can return to winning ways.

CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL is the stable companion of the top choice and she is unbeaten from two starts to date. She returns from an 11-week break which would have done her the world of good. If not in need of the run, she can keep that record intact.

ELEGANT ICE raced from just off the pace last time, moved up well but was touched off by Swing Upon A Star. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The daughter of What A Winter may be the one to spoil the Mike de Kock party.

Race 7

MAIN DEFENDER won a game race in the Grade 3 Betway Graham Beck Stakes last time. He raced from a handy position, moved up and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Pathfork has plenty of class and if not in need of this outing, he should be hard to beat.

SANDRINGHAM SUMMIT was left with a lot of work to do when turning for home in the Grade 2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans. He finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the wire.

THE AFRICA HOUSE has finished fourth in his last three starts. He was a tad disappointing when odds-on favourite in his last outing. He gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

Race 8

BOB’S YOUR UNCLE showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 2000m at the Vaal. He set the pace that day, but tired late. The son of Royal Mo should enjoy the drop back to the mile as he has won over this distance in the past. He takes a drop-in class and if putting his best foot forward, he should be too good for this field.

STORM BRASCO was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He does take on stronger, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand.

CIAN THE CONQUEROR had excuses in his last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can show
