Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet For Today

Race 2: OUTLAW (9)
Jockey: Habib C – Trainer: Fortune A

OUTLAW is the best bet on the programme. She produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. She understandably raced green, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Jackson would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Race 3: FULL HOUSE (1)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Soma J

FULL HOUSE was not disgraced when finishing fifth against stronger company over this C&D last time. The son of Querari is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He takes a drop in class and Gavin Lerena may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 5: RULE BOOK (2)
Jockey: V.D.Merwe J – Trainer: Laird A G

RULE BOOK ran a fair race in his last start over this C&D. He was too far back turning for home and stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Global View stays all day and he should notch up his fourth career victory.

Race 6: DARK TRAVEL (5)
Jockey: Habib C – Trainer: Webber B

DARK TRAVEL stayed on strongly when finishing second over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. She has won twice, finished second once and third three times from eight starts on this course. Calvin Habib returns to the saddle and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Value Bet For Today

Race 8: MINGSHI (8)
Jockey: Solomons J – Trainer: Peter P

MINGSHI should have finished closer last time as he had to be eased at the 400m mark. He finished 1.75 lengths behind KOOL BAIKAL in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand
