Race 1

AUNT PITTYPAT‘S last three starts have been decent. She stayed on when third over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She gets the blinkers re-fitted and in this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag.

DUSKY ROSE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

ANTANANARIVO is better than her last start over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course. She placed in her three previous runs on this course, two of which were over this distance. She gets the services of capable work rider Tshepiso Matsoele who may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 2

SUPER AWESOME is the best bet on the programme. He showed good speed over this distance last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of King Rahul. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Capetown Noir meets the right field here and he should take a power of beating.

FLYING DIAMOND is an unraced daughter of Flying The Flag from the Tony Peter stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. She does not need to be a stable superstar to win in this field. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.

SCARLET RED is a daughter of Visionaire from the Paul Matchett yard with Philasande Mxoli doing duty. She is related to multiple winners including Mr Roy and Roy’s Command. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note.

Race 3

VIVA DE JANEIRO challenged strongly in his last start over 1400m at Turffontein, but found one too good in the form of Archimides. The son of Oratorio is the form horse in the race and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

GOLDEN PAVILION finished 0.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

CIRCLE OF GRACE showed good speed in his comeback run, but was outrun late. He would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. The son of Potala Palace should have no issues with the 1450m and he is one of the leading contenders.

Race 4

PASS THE BATON showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m. She set the pace, but was outrun late by Silver Sanctuary. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is a progressive type and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

VILLA SEMAYA finished 2.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

GREEN BUBBLES has finished third in her last two starts. She has finished second twice and third once from four starts over this C&D. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 5

LEAO ALADO challenged strongly in his last start over 1800m on the Turffontein Inside course, but found one too good in the form of Youre My Sunshine. The son of Alado will love the rise to 2000m and if jumping on terms, he can go one better.

MANZ KNIGHT was running on when second over 1800m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that Celtic Rush has come out and won again since. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

DESERT FOX finished 8.15 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 6

CAPE LIGHTS was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She has won twice and finished second three times from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of Ideal World meets similar company this afternoon and can follow up.

ELEMBEE ran on powerfully when winning her last start over 1400m at Turffontein. She won her only attempt over this C&D. Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.

SAY YES was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She takes a rise in class, but is in a good space and may be up to the task at hand.

Race 7

SURYAVARMAN set his own fractions over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Querari meets similar company this afternoon and may be hard to peg back.

CAPTAIN OF GRIT ran a fair race when third over 1600m at Turffontein last time. He finished third in his only attempt over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

JOHNNY DOGS returns from a 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. He takes a drop-in class and if not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

AUSSENKEHR was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance. He finished 1.3 lengths behind THUNDERSTONE in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

MOONSHININGTHROUGH won a game race in her last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She has won three times from four starts over this distance. The daughter of Rafeef is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money

THUNDERSTONE finished 0.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.

Race 9

LULU‘S BOY finished 1.5 lengths behind FULLY LOADED last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. All three of his victories have come over this distance. If allowed to use his early gate speed, he should be hard to peg back.

FULLY LOADED ran a good race when third in his last start over this distance. He won his only attempt over this C&D. If jumping on terms, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

BROSNAN followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. He will enjoy the step up to 1200m and should be involved in the fight to the finish
