BettingDiaryThere is plenty of live sporting action for punters to bet on, on Friday and we take a look at some of the highlights in our Betting Diary.

CURRIE CUP RUGBY

Friday night sees the Pumas host the Blue Bulls with both sides still searching for their first victory in this shortened Tournament.  The Blue Bulls have been priced favourites at 6/10 with the Pumas 14/10 and the draw 22/1 and the handicap is set at Pumas (+4.5).

CRICKET

England and Ireland go into day 3 of their test match and it looks likely to be the last day with England leading by a 181 runs with 1 wicket in hand at stumps on Day 2.  England remain firm favourites to win the match around the 5/10 mark and you can get 16/10 Ireland with the draw out to 40/1. Hands up all of you that would like to see England beaten.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh meet in an ODI and Sri Lanka are 7/10 favourites and Bangladesh 23/20.  It might pay to be cautious in these first ODI’s following the World Cup, but we do fancy a 100 to be scored in the match and that is on offer at 8/11.

TENNIS, ATP HAMBURG

Friday sees the quarter-finals of the ATP Hamburg and at the time of writing two of them have been confirmed.

Dominic Thiem is 1/7 to beat Andrey Rublev 9/2, but the other quarter-final looks more competitive with Jeremy Chardy 21/20 and Nikoloz Basilashvili 15/20

FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

We have been quite impressed by the amount of betting interest the Water Polo has got and on Friday the USA will play their old rivals Spain for the World Championship in the ladies draw.  The USA are firm favourites with the books at 2/9 for the victory and that relates to (-2.5) goals in the handicap market.  Total goals quotes are over or under 17.5 at 5/6 the pair.

TOUR DE FRANCE

There are just 3 stages left in the Tour de France and it is one of the most competitive races we have seen in years.  Julian Alaphilippe still has the Yellow Jersey and he is 7/2 alongside Geraint Thomas with Thibaut Pinot now 3/1 from 14/10 and Egan Bernal, the new favourite at 27/20.

F1 GERMAN GRAND PRIX

The opening practises for the German Grand Prix will be televised on Super Sport.  At this point, Lewis Hamilton is trading a short price 6/10 to win the Grand Prix, with Bottas 29/10 and Verstappen 39/4 the same price as Leclerc.  There are plenty of markets to bet on including Podium Finish, Fastest Lap, Winning Margin, Winning Constructor and whether there will be a Safety Car.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Fairview Track in Port Elizabeth on Friday with the first race off at 12h35 and the 8th and final race scheduled for 16h45.  In race 6 we fancy the chances of horse number 8, Malinga, under the guidance of Hewitson at a current price of 11/2 a win and 11/10 a place.
