FRIDAY

NEWCASTLE V LEEDS

Both these sides have got off to a slow start to the season and Newcastle have only taken 1 point from their opening 4 games. Last time out they were hammered 4-1 away at Manchester United and their only point came at home against Southampton with a 2-2 draw at the end of August. Their other home game was a 4-2 loss to West Ham.

Leeds are coming off a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool and they have taken 2 points from their opening 4 games, a draw at home to Everton and away at Burnley.

Leeds did the double over Newcastle last season winning this fixture 2-1 and their home match 5-2.

Newcastle 41/20

Draw 53/20

Leeds 13/10

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 29/20

Three out of the four Newcastle matches have had 4 goals or more in them this season and 50% of the Leeds games have also landed for over 3.5 goal backers.

SATURDAY

LIVERPOOL v CRYSTAL PALACE

Liverpool are 3rd on the log having taken 10 points from a possible 12. Their last game was a convincing 3-0 away win at Leeds and their last home match was a 1-1 draw with Chelsea where they would have been disappointed not to have finished off their London visitors who were down to 10 men for a lengthy period. Liverpool are coming off a thrilling 3-2 home win over Milan in the Champions League in midweek.

Palace have taken 5 points from a possible 12 and after an opening day defeat to Chelsea they have drawn at home to Brentford and away at West Ham before beating Tottenham 3-0 at home last time out.

Liverpool have won the last 4 times they have hosted Crystal Palace and last season won this fixture 2-0 and looking at the reverse fixture it was a 7-0 hammering to Liverpool at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool 2/9

Draw 6/1

Crystal Palace 12/1

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 11/10

Palace are a team that is good on the counter-attack and although the Liverpool defences look solid this season I think we are going to get goals at both ends.

SUNDAY

TOTTENHAM v CHELSEA

The match of the weekend sees 7th place Tottenham host 2nd place Chelsea.

Tottenham got their campaign off to an excellent start with 3 victories before losing 3-0 away to Crystal Palace last time out. Their home wins have both been by 1-0 margins against Watford and Manchester City.

Chelsea have dropped just 2 points in their opening 4 games and they were too strong for Villa last time out winning 3-0 at home. On the road they have drawn 1-1 at Liverpool and beaten Arsenal 2-0.

Chelsea won this fixture 1-0 last season and the game at Stamford Bridge finished goalless.

Tottenham 7/2

Draw 11/4

Chelsea 8/10

Suggested Bet: Chelsea win at 8/10

Chelsea have really impressed me this season and while I am expecting Tottenham to give them a good game, I think they have what it takes to bag the 3 points.

I was also considering an Under 2.5 goals play as this fixture hasn’t produced much in the way of goals of late, but at 7/10 it was just a bit short to get me involved.
